Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.

This has got to be one of the saddest things I have ever heard... that the boy has never come across *anyone* that he can think of that wouldn't beat him? Hopefully, after having his story out, they'll be able to get him the help he needs... he's going to need a lot of it over the next few years to get over this. Poor little guy!
HUGS to my special friend Red...I have to say I was kind of feeling really bad and sad for this poor kid...but then I read the last line...I can see how someone with her heart and compasion would not be able to read the rest with tears in her eyes...

Oakland, CA (AP) - A seven-year-old boy was at the center of an
Orange County courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling
over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being
beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his
aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that
family unity be maintained to the degree possible.
The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him
more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When
the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy
cried out that they also beat him.
After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning
that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the
judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who
should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal
references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted
temporary custody to the Oakland Raiders, whom the boy firmly believes
are not capable of beating anyone.
