Totally tragic. I didn't see it, and it probably would have been hard for me to watch. I hate watching animals suffer.

What's weird is watching people suffer doesn't bother me much.

I hope that the horse makes it through.

This is a really bad thing for a horse.

Some people see the beauty in animals.............some don't.

No I'm not young chop! I know he busted his stick in 2 places, what I ment to say is I hope that the recovers, and is able to stand in a peaceful meadow, eatting hay, and being put out to stud. I know he will never race again, this is not DREAMER. If my JOKE offended you I'm truly sorry.

Like Who Dey, I didn't actually see it and am kind of glad I didn't. I had just heard an extensive interview on Friday where the guy said this horse had a chance to go down in history. Kind of sad, really, because he will go down in history, but not for being an undefeated Triple-crown winner like the man on the radio was referring to. I really hope he pulls through this.

Well we can all hope he pulls a seabiscuit. For those who dont know, Seabiscuit fractured his front leg, AND his rider, Red Pollard broke HIS leg as well. Seabiscuits AND Reds injurys were career ending injuries. With perseverance, Red gradually healed along with the horse, walking it every day. They then entered the Santa Anita 100 grand prize race. The race they lost TWICE by a nose.

Seabiscuit finnaly won the race. This proves if one horse could do it, Barbaro could hopefully do it aswell.

I hope they dont put the horse down because of this. They should at least keep him for a stud. I also hope the jockey is ok aswell, hes probably having a hard time with this aswell. His horse will more than likely be put down, and he will have to deal with it. For those who dont ride horses(me included) it must feel like losing a pet dog or cat, its horrible!

So heres hoping for a recovery. Good luck Barbaro

is it because animals are TOTALLY helpless when something like this happens?

if this happened to a human they'll recover.

but this is LIFE-THREATNING to a horse.

For this to happen to any horse is tragic. It seems to be even worse when it happens on such a huge event.

                              Ok.

I am an absolute animal lover. I'm the guy at the movie that's saying, "Kill the person, don't kill the dog".......anyways......

I'm obviously completely ignorant with horses and don't understand how a broken leg can be deemed "life threatening".

Can someone please shed some light before I hate horse racing even more due to, "if he can't race anymore, end him".

And obviously there's more to it then that.
