I think I've seen an example of this where they held up a sheet of some sort of material and they turned it on and off or something. I dunno, very interesting though. Would be a good fit for scouts and snipers in the military.

It actually isn't refracting light, it's projecting the image behind him onto the front.

It has been in development for a while now. It's known as active camoflauge. Basically a thin sheet of some type of display that is flexible, this is mounted onto a vehicle, images are captured in a 360 deg. radius and transmitted to the opposite display.Originally posted by Jared
