  • Hospital "adopts" Star Trek: TNG communicator pin idea

Along with many other Star Trek inventions that have come to pass...

    http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/...201937,00.html

It seems that a hospital in the UK has "adopted" the communicator technology from TNG and to keep in touch with its employees. I wonder if later versions will pinpoint location as well. There also needs to be a privacy mode.

That is both wicked and tubular!!!

Anyway, I work in a hospital when I'm not in school. I'm actually a switchboard operator who is in charge of rerouting calls between all of the departments and calling the emergency codes and dispatching the police (well, when the dispatcher is off duty.)

This technology would be awesome for that.

Especially for the hospital codes. Oh, and it is true that you can't wear cell-phones near the hospital equipment, so it's cool like that too.
