I registered mine a couple of years ago. The only time I got a call was from someone in Florida wanting to sell me a "Scooter."

A good friend of ours had gone down there to see his folks, and was bored waiting in line for a movie in the mall, and saw a stand that said "Know someone who would be interested in a "Scooter? Please sign up here!"

He wrote us up, his folks, and everyone at his work.

Regardless of what the third post says or not, I have received these calls and received text messages also.....the calls take PRECIOUS minutes away from my while I am driving that I could be using saving someones life, and the text messages charge me $.10 each text.

I would rather be charged $.10 each text then have my PRECIOUS driving minutes taken from me.

My commute is long, I need my cell phone during that time.

I love my cell phone and hate any unneccesary charges...especially as I am driving into work and get an important phone call. Anyone in the LIFE SAVING field should realize that cell phones have saved many lifes since they have been invented.

Thanks again Who Dey....I will make sure know one is wasting my precious minutes on my cell phone when I could be saving a life while driving down the road.

the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the

Got this in an e-mail today, and if you haven't registered your cell yet, go do it. You'll thank me later.

    Good luck.....
Just got this off the FTC's website for DNC:

Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you’ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls.
So basically any telemarketer could incorporate these strategies into their pitch....thus bypassing the DNC registry...
