  • Send cards to our soldiers

This sounds like a great idea, and something we can all do:

This is one of the neatest things I have seen yet...and so easy.

If you go to the web site www.letssaythanks.com you can pick out a thank
you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that
is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it
will go to some member of the armed services.

It is FREE and it only takes a second. The cards were created by young
children around the U.S. They are adorable. Wouldn't it be wonderful
if the soldiers received a bunch of these?

I sent mine, now you send one too!!

I have added the following website, which was a request from Squints. See Post #24

    http://www.adoptaplatoon.org/

    More help for our soldiers.....

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't know if anybody else has seen this....but I saw a rerun of Glen Beck tonight and he was talking with a guy about this.
There's a website, here where you can go to divvy up a donation towards these 'fillers' for the military helmets. They cost appx $71 for a kit, and are flying like hotcakes. Hell, even Cher donated some bucks toward the cause.....
The Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center's (DVBIC) funding has been cut in half - from $14M to $7M, so they're needing money from us.

They slide into the sides/front/back of the helmets to keep them snug against the head. Don't know how many here have actually had to wear helmets, but they're anything BUT snug.

Check the site out.......our guys/gals will thank you. http://operation-helmet.org/

The following website added on 9-29-06, as suggested by SaddleTramp

You are welcome. I hope alot of people do this. I would like for this thread to have a sticky to keep it towards the top, but I don't know how that is done.

Great idea, DN! It's always good to boost morale especially from the kids. And there are alot of Bronco fans out there, too bad they don't have a Bronco postcard.

I can talk to many soldiers personally, but I sent one out too.

                      good find, DN!

If you take what I have to say seriously, then I'm embarrassed for you.

If I was a soldier, I'd absolutely love to get a card made by a child.

I don't think it would feel quite the same to get a xeroxed card, but I'd probably still appreciate the thought.

Maybe I'll find some charity that will let me send some lucky soldier a whole bunch of zots and chick-o-stick.

Do a search on google under support our soldiers. You will find many organizations that tell you how you can send care packages.

I actually got one of these in the mail last week. It made me smile, to say the least. I'm deployed to Kuwait right now...morale here is pretty low for some reason, so stuff like that helps to boost it. I'm also on a Mustang forum (DFWstangs.net) and they have sent me a bunch of stuff since I've been here. Thanks for the sticky!
