  • Freak OUT

My body temp has just shot up, I have just broke out in a cold sweat, my face went pale and all I wanted to do is scream.

Got a big project done, it was proofed and ready for print & NOW I have a full revision on my hands! I ahve to revise the whole thing?

    And do the billing-
    And order entry-
And assemble 110 binders with tabs for a new client.

When it rains it pours. I think I'm going to smoke.

Then I will come back in and work.
I was supposed to have off tomorrow and Friday.
Doesn't look as if it's gong to happen.

I just wanted to rant a minute.

    Okay now I'm done.

    REVISED!!! No, I'm not done.

Perhaps if I use my super powers of disappearing, I will come back at the end of the day and all will be done for me (not hardly, Vick).
When I go home tonight, I'm going to watch "Office Space" just so I don't feel so bad about my workload.

OK NOW I'm going to go and smoke.

I expect a beer waiting for me when I come back damnit.

      Ah, freak out
      Le freak, c'est chic
      Freak out

All that pressure got you down
Has your head spinning all around
Feel the rhythm, check the ride
Come on along and have a real good time
Like the days of stomping at the Savoy
Now we freak, oh what a joy
Just come on down, two fifty four
Find a spot out on the floor

Everybody's gotta elevate from the norm...

The greatest list of music I don't own on CD

I know for a FACT you did not come from the disco era.

Alright, now who's got the Jared Siggy today?
        C'mon.......Anton?

It almost made my go off a bit there, Jared. Glad I know better.

I actually really dig Niles Rodgers and dancing to that song. And how do you know that I am not old enough to remember it? I just thought that verse would fit your day.

Niles is a bad ass guitar player. Plus, he wrote the bass line for "Good Times" which was immortalized by the Sugar Hill Gang and broke rap open to the mainstream.

More importantly, he has been a key producer for many big breakout albums or songs for emerging or comeback artists:

Starting with Sister Sledge - "We Are Family"
Next was David Bowie, who was looking for a musical makeover. Rodgers sure did deliver with 1983's Let's Dance, which remains Bowie's all-time best-selling album. From there, offers from others flooded in, as Rodgers scored further hits -- Duran Duran's Arena, Madonna's Like a Virgin, Mick Jagger's She's the Boss, Jeff Beck's Flash, The B-52's' Roam, and the Vaughan Brothers' Family Style, among countless others.

Selected stuff he has done that you may not know about:

          Code:

1983 Hearts and Bones Paul Simon Guitar, Guitar (Electric)
1983 Let's Dance David Bowie Guitar, Arranger, Producer
          1984 Arena Duran Duran Producer
          1984 Gremlins Original Soundtrack Producer
1984 Like a Virgin Madonna Guitar, Producer, Synclavier
          1984 Swing INXS Producer
1985 Boys and Girls Bryan Ferry Musician
          1985 Flash Jeff Beck Producer
1986 High Life Steve Winwood Guitar
          1986 Notorious Duran Duran Producer
          1986 So Peter Gabriel Guitar
1986 True Colors Cyndi Lauper Guitar
1987 You Can Dance Madonna Producer

Hey I do that kind of stuff all the time; except I don't get paid. But that kinda goes with actually enjoying the task itself,

I enjoy metal (classic metal mostly) as much as anyone else. (Maiden, Priest, Anthrax, old Metallica, Megadeth, Sabbath, old Scorpions, A little bit of King Diamond, Motorhead, etc)

But I appreciate versatility and talent more. Seriously, how many disco types have any sort of career now? Much less with such a wide range of artists?

Anyway, I thought it would bring a smile to Fred's face after her freak out. That's why I posted.

I do radio for a living, yes.

Not at this very moment, as I recently moved and have found the job market to be very tight in that field.

But my degree is in broadcasting, yes.

However, I pursued that degree because I was a huge music buff to begin with.

So, yes, I guess I cheat.

                    At something......

                      Behave, Prime.

I knew you were. I've been around DJ's and radio my whole life. I too am a music buff and a wannabe guitar player. I like writing comedy & song parodies.

And your age tells me that you are about my age, which is around 30. Transformers.........dead giveaway. I like Bumblebee & Jazz. Sound wave was awesome too. I had every Transformer ever made when I was a kid.

Man, too bad you live so far away.

I am at the point in my career where I think I am going to put together a morning show from scratch and sell it to syndicators or satelliet radio myself. I am tired of working for other people.

And I have always wanted to do a music focused morning show, not pop culture/entertainment. Interviews with artists, music discussion.

Basically, a show for music geeks like me.

You and or/Jewels would be perfect. No one here (San Diego) seems interested. It probably means a super tight budget and potentially never getting the investment back, as are all risky investments.

As to my age, I think everyone roughly knows my age range, but I feel that it is immaterial. I wish to be judged, good or bad, on my posts. Not how 'mature' I may seem relevant to may age.

There has to be SOME mystery, right?

As to my age, I think everyone roughly knows my age range, but I feel that it is immaterial. I wish to be judged, good or bad, on my posts. Not how 'mature' I may seem relevant to may age.

There has to be SOME mystery, right?

                          No sorry, dead giveaway.
J has other things going on right now & I already do some light work for a station in town just for fun. It was never my intent to turn it into a career. It's more of a passion.

                          And YES.........................So off topic.
