  • Spring Is Here And I Don't Care, Leaving At Noon For Opening Day!!!

The Spring is here, daylight lasts longer, the birds are chirping, the mowers are mowing, and the bats down at the K are going to be clicking today!!!!! I know, I know, I must have a h*** on for chokers, but I love my Royals!! What can I say, I'm KC born and raised with a bottle of Barbecue Sauce in one hand and a corn on the cob in the other! Wohoo!!!! Spring is here and here's my baseball predictions for all of you!!!

    AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST

    1. NEW YORK------ They'll stink at the beginning, but before Baltimore will get a chance to win the division, oh Georgie will go out and buy $35 million worth of talent and win it again. 92-70

    2. BALTIMORE---- They'll be tough but New York will buy a bunch of starters and trade off their farm league while Baltimore struggles in the stretch. 87-75

    3. BOSTON---- Not convinced their new management will help them that much, their bullpen sucks still. 82-80

    4. TORONTO--- They filled a decent squad last year, but that was last year. This year with big spenders New York, Baltimore and Boston, Toronto will have to settle for fourth. 79-83

    5. TAMPA BAY---- Poor Lou P, he must be feeling like he's doing charity work rather than managing a ML ballclub. 69-93

    AMERICAN LEAGUE CENTRAL

    1. MINNESOTA---- Minnesota will find a way to win their 3rd Straight Division title, KC will make them earn it, but it won't matter my Royals will choke in September. 91-71

    2. KANSAS CITY---- The Royals will field another .500 ballclub but this may be their last chance to do so, Beltran will be gone after next year. Their miracle season may have been last year. 87-75

    3. CHICAGO---- Frank Thomas will never get a ring, hotheads don't earn them they just complain about not getting them, just ask Carl Everett. 83-79.

    4. CLEVELAND---- Eric Wedge and his Indians will have a very long season. 69-93.

    5. DETROIT--- So what if you got Pudge and White, it doesn't matter, Detroit's pitching is still awful. 63-99.

    AMERICAN LEAGUE WEST

    1. ANAHEIM---- The Angels will be back guaranteed, Vladimir and the rest of the wrecking crew will return to prove that 2002 was not a fluke. 102-60.

    2. SEATTLE---- Ibanez has made his return to Seattle and with Suzuki and the other stars this team will once again field a winner. 92-70.

    3. OAKLAND----- The A's always seem to come on strong near the end, time will only tell, but I'm betting they don't get far. 81-81.

    4. TEXAS------ Bad, vvvveerrryy Bad. 60-102.

    NATIONAL
    LEAGUE EAST

    1. ATLANTA---- Atlanta always finds ways to win, they'll find it again. 99-63.

    2. PHILADELPHIA----- Thome must step it up and the Phillies, well let's just say they're the Phillies. 86-76

    3. FLORIDA----- Sorry Jack, but this season, you'll be like the 98' Marlins. 79-83.

    4. MONTREAL---- I like the Expos, I really do, but without Vladimir they'll compete early but fall at the end. 73-89.

    5. NEW YORK----- The Mets, well.......................66-96.

    NATIONAL LEAGUE CENTRAL

    1. CHICAGO------ Their staff is deep and they keep healthy, this team will be dangerous. 96-66.

    2. HOUSTON---- The Astros have built their team around former Yanks and Jeff Kent, times running out for Biggio and Bagwell. 90-72.

    3. ST. LOUIS----- The bullpen is still in question, they could surprise me though. So go on and surprise me Redbirds. 85-77.

    4. CINCINNATI---- The lowly Reds will again waste their money on Griffey Jr. and watch their season fade away, they should be glad they play in the same division as Pittsburgh and Milwaukee, to avoid last place. 79-83.

    5. PITTSBURGH------- The Pirates have some young talent and they could be this years Royals. 75-87.

    6. MILWAUKEE------ Uhhh, dude, it's the Brewers. 63-99.

    NATIONAL LEAGUE WEST

    1. SAN FRANCISCO---- Not Sure on this one, but I'll take them. 91-71.

    2. SAN DIEGO---- Call me crazy, but I think they're gonna surprise this year. 86-76.

    3. LOS ANGELES----- Uhhh, it's the Dodgers, and they're bound to choke. 82-80

    4. ARIZONA----- Can you say the Raiders of MLB? 71-91.

    5. COLORADO----- Sorry Denver fans, but I took a deep look at this team in Spring Training and all I can say is..............67-95.

    NEW YORK OVER SEATTLE
    ANAHEIM OVER MINNESOTA

    ANAHEIM OVER NEW YORK

    HOUSTON OVER ATLANTA
    CHICAGO OVER SAN FRANCISCO

    CHICAGO OVER HOUSTON

    ANAHEIM OVER CHICAGO

The Cubs will make the series this year, although the hot dog vendor may interfere with a crucial play.

I think that Baltimore will be improved, but Toronto is still better. Better than anyone is giving them credit for. Deeper pitching than the Yankees, IMO. I think, on paper, Boston is the best team in the division, with the Yankess and Toronto chasing. Perhaps suddenly the toughest division in the AL, leapfrogging the West.

          AMERICAN LEAGUE CENTRAL

          1. MINNESOTA---- Minnesota will find a way to win their 3rd Straight Division title, KC will make them earn it, but it won't matter my Royals will choke in September. 91-71

          5. DETROIT--- So what if you got Pudge and White, it doesn't matter, Detroit's pitching is still awful. 63-99.
Frank Thomas is a hot head? None of the teams are great, but the Sox, Min, and KC are all pretty much equal. Detroit will be more competative, now that they addes some offense, and their picthers are soooo young, that I would think they should get better. Still a bad team though.

          AMERICAN LEAGUE WEST

          1. ANAHEIM---- The Angels will be back guaranteed, Vladimir and the rest of the wrecking crew will return to prove that 2002 was not a fluke. 102-60.

          4. TEXAS------ Bad, vvvveerrryy Bad. 60-102.

Again, I think Seattle will keep it closer. Oakland still has great pitching, so I don't know where they will fall, but I would be shocked if Anahiem doesn't win thsi division. Texas is a AAA ball club until they get a quality pitching staff. They can score a ton though.

          NATIONAL LEAGUE EAST

          1. ATLANTA---- Atlanta always finds ways to win, they'll find it again. 99-63.

          2. PHILADELPHIA----- Thome must step it up and the Phillies, well let's just say they're the Phillies. 86-76

          5. NEW YORK----- The Mets, well.......................66-96.
SIGH. My Mets stink, although they should me much improved defensively, particulary up the middle. Philly's division to lose, with Florida right behind them. Atlanta might dip to 3rd or even 4th. They lost pitching and offense this off-season, a BAD comination.

          5. PITTSBURGH------- The Pirates have some young talent and they could be this years Royals. 75-87.

          6. MILWAUKEE------ Uhhh, dude, it's the Brewers. 63-99.

Chicago might be the best team in baseball (yes, perhaps even better than the Yankees or BoSox). Deep quality pitching, a more diverse offense than people realize, and they added Maddux and Derek Lee! No dominant middle reliever, but I think they can actually get to the series this year. Houston will be battling Florida for the wild card.

          NATIONAL LEAGUE WEST

          1. SAN FRANCISCO---- Not Sure on this one, but I'll take them. 91-71.

          2. SAN DIEGO---- Call me crazy, but I think they're gonna surprise this year. 86-76.

          5. COLORADO----- Sorry Denver fans, but I took a deep look at this team in Spring Training and all I can say is..............67-95.
This division is pretty balanced. The Giants didn't really improve, but no one has caught up yet. I think San Diego will surpass L.A. They are in a balanced park, and added some pieces. I don't know about a wild card, but they should be much better. L.A. still has no offense, even if Green is healthy. Phenomenal pitching last year though. I wonder if they can equal that performance? AZ and Colorado need to be one team, then they would have a competative team.

I'm saying Cubbies and Red Sox in the Series, just because I think the world would end if that happened.

Re: Spring Is Here And I Don't Care, Leaving At Noon For Opening Day!!!

            AL East

            1. New York - Will find a way to buy 1st

            2. Boston - Starting Pitching better than Baltimore

            3. Orioles - Not enough starting pitching

            4. Toronto - Not enough starting pitching

            5. Tampa Bay - it's the Devil Rays

            AL Central

            1. KC - Toss up between KC, Chi, and Min so I go with my home team

            2. Min - Because I hate the White Sox

            3. Chi - They are better than Cleveland and Detroit

            4. Det - With new additions they will be slightly better than Cleveland

            5. Cle - can they actually finish behind the Tigers? I say yes.

            AL West

            1. Ana - Guerrero and Anderson, two of the best in M.L.B. plus they have an excellent bullpen. Not to mention Colon added.

            2. Sea - Close race with Ana. but finish 2nd

            3. Oak - Great Starting pitching but offense has lost some key players.

            4. Tex - Pitching is horrible

            NL East

            1. Phi - Enough offense and pitching to get it done this year.

            2. Atl - Starting pitching not as strong and offense lost some firepower in Lopez and Sheffield

            3. Flo - Good starting pitching but offseason losses hurt too much

            4. New- Mets are improved and might suprise some people this year.

            5. Mon - Good team, just worst in a tough division

            NL Cent

            1. Hou - Will edge out Chi-town for 1st

            2. Chi - NL wild card

            3. STL - pitching not as good as Chicago and Houston

            4. Cin - Should be a better club than last year. Will take some games from the top 3

            5. Pit - Good young talent but 5th best in a very tough division

            6. Mil - Will fight with Pit for 5th

            NL West

            1. SF - Will find a way to win if healthy

            2. SD - Much improved over last year.

            3. LA - Not much offensive power but pitching is pretty good.

            4. AZ - Good 1 and 2 starting pitching but not much else. Will battel LA for 3rd.

            5. CO - Pitching is big problem, not a bad lineup though. I think Burnitz will have a career year if healthy.

              I know it's weird.

              Go Cardinals! Go Cubs!

But If I have to choose one, I have to go with the Cardinals.
