The Spring is here, daylight lasts longer, the birds are chirping, the mowers are mowing, and the bats down at the K are going to be clicking today!!!!! I know, I know, I must have a h*** on for chokers, but I love my Royals!! What can I say, I'm KC born and raised with a bottle of Barbecue Sauce in one hand and a corn on the cob in the other! Wohoo!!!! Spring is here and here's my baseball predictions for all of you!!!
AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST
1. NEW YORK------ They'll stink at the beginning, but before Baltimore will get a chance to win the division, oh Georgie will go out and buy $35 million worth of talent and win it again. 92-70
2. BALTIMORE---- They'll be tough but New York will buy a bunch of starters and trade off their farm league while Baltimore struggles in the stretch. 87-75
3. BOSTON---- Not convinced their new management will help them that much, their bullpen sucks still. 82-80
4. TORONTO--- They filled a decent squad last year, but that was last year. This year with big spenders New York, Baltimore and Boston, Toronto will have to settle for fourth. 79-83
5. TAMPA BAY---- Poor Lou P, he must be feeling like he's doing charity work rather than managing a ML ballclub. 69-93
AMERICAN LEAGUE CENTRAL
1. MINNESOTA---- Minnesota will find a way to win their 3rd Straight Division title, KC will make them earn it, but it won't matter my Royals will choke in September. 91-71
2. KANSAS CITY---- The Royals will field another .500 ballclub but this may be their last chance to do so, Beltran will be gone after next year. Their miracle season may have been last year. 87-75
3. CHICAGO---- Frank Thomas will never get a ring, hotheads don't earn them they just complain about not getting them, just ask Carl Everett. 83-79.
4. CLEVELAND---- Eric Wedge and his Indians will have a very long season. 69-93.
5. DETROIT--- So what if you got Pudge and White, it doesn't matter, Detroit's pitching is still awful. 63-99.
AMERICAN LEAGUE WEST
1. ANAHEIM---- The Angels will be back guaranteed, Vladimir and the rest of the wrecking crew will return to prove that 2002 was not a fluke. 102-60.
2. SEATTLE---- Ibanez has made his return to Seattle and with Suzuki and the other stars this team will once again field a winner. 92-70.
3. OAKLAND----- The A's always seem to come on strong near the end, time will only tell, but I'm betting they don't get far. 81-81.
4. TEXAS------ Bad, vvvveerrryy Bad. 60-102.
NATIONAL
LEAGUE EAST
1. ATLANTA---- Atlanta always finds ways to win, they'll find it again. 99-63.
2. PHILADELPHIA----- Thome must step it up and the Phillies, well let's just say they're the Phillies. 86-76
3. FLORIDA----- Sorry Jack, but this season, you'll be like the 98' Marlins. 79-83.
4. MONTREAL---- I like the Expos, I really do, but without Vladimir they'll compete early but fall at the end. 73-89.
5. NEW YORK----- The Mets, well.......................66-96.
NATIONAL LEAGUE CENTRAL
1. CHICAGO------ Their staff is deep and they keep healthy, this team will be dangerous. 96-66.
2. HOUSTON---- The Astros have built their team around former Yanks and Jeff Kent, times running out for Biggio and Bagwell. 90-72.
3. ST. LOUIS----- The bullpen is still in question, they could surprise me though. So go on and surprise me Redbirds. 85-77.
4. CINCINNATI---- The lowly Reds will again waste their money on Griffey Jr. and watch their season fade away, they should be glad they play in the same division as Pittsburgh and Milwaukee, to avoid last place. 79-83.
5. PITTSBURGH------- The Pirates have some young talent and they could be this years Royals. 75-87.
6. MILWAUKEE------ Uhhh, dude, it's the Brewers. 63-99.
NATIONAL LEAGUE WEST
1. SAN FRANCISCO---- Not Sure on this one, but I'll take them. 91-71.
2. SAN DIEGO---- Call me crazy, but I think they're gonna surprise this year. 86-76.
3. LOS ANGELES----- Uhhh, it's the Dodgers, and they're bound to choke. 82-80
4. ARIZONA----- Can you say the Raiders of MLB? 71-91.
5. COLORADO----- Sorry Denver fans, but I took a deep look at this team in Spring Training and all I can say is..............67-95.
