Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Am I the only person who thinks next to flying cars this would be one of the coolest things ever to happen to the car industry? I mean the engine would still be made like it always would and you would proably have to add the wood to some sort of metal frame but why isn't a wooden car feaseable? you can get a boat that is made out of wood and a wooden house o why not a car? IT would be done mostly just for looks but I don't see anything wrong with that?

Nah - pulling the splinters out of your ass every night would start to get old real fast

I think it would hold up good, ever see a car hit a telephone pole? The pole usually wins that battle. If you get the right kind of wood, I think it'll be safe.
Yeh but the telephone poles are usually *solid* wood--whereas the car would be hollowed out a bit...And the cars would have to be solar powered or some other substance besides fuel because think about how quickly cars kind of explode when hit just right--put that into wood & you wouldn't necessarily have it explode, but it would burn for hours...

Metal burns too by the way
And a light sturdy wood might actually be safer then melting plastic and fiberglass.
If you scratch the wood, you can just sand it down a bit.
You could different kinds of wood depending on the part. It doesn't have to be all Oak for example. You can throw in some Pine and cherry in there too.
You could paint the wood or stain it. If you feel really adventurous you could carve fancy designs into the wood.
And if you wanted to add accessories to the car, you'd just nail it to the body. Like a bike rack for example. And if you wanna get rid of the bike rack, alls you need is a standard claw hammer.
LOL I know that metal burns as well, but isn't the temperature for it to actually burn a little higher than wood?
Besides, you'd have to get around all the tree huggers...
Speaking of which, is it just me, or does it seem that the people that are most concerned for the environment (or say so anyway) seem to drive the worst types of vehicles? I work up in Boulder, so I'm always around a bunch of granola/hippy type people and the ones that drive cars end up driving old beaters--which produce so much more pollution than some of the newer model sedans that they could easily upgrade to... Just a little sidenote...sorry, don't mean to hijack your thread there Benny!
Cars used to be made out of wood. My only concern would be the weight vs rigidity. A light weight wood would shatter/splinter whatever term you like. But The heavy woods would tend to be too heavy. In boats nobody gives a **** because they float. However a mahogany car would get the women, no?
