Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.

Well I called them and they told me that they only take in injured dogs. So I guess I have to use the dumb friends league.
That sucks!! I don't know why they took Buddy in then. He was perfectly healthy. I guess do a real thorough check to see which shelters might be a non-kill shelter...perhaps call the Humane Society. They may have some answers for you.
Maxfund is really good with it, each animal has playtime and families come in and have adoption trials (a good set amount of time where the family can take the dog for a walk or to the park to see if they click) I think they allow overnights with the animal. This way the animal doesn't come back within a week and have to go through the mental breakdowns of going in and out of homes. I was so impressed with the operation. And if they don't have room for your puppy , they will make room. When we went in they were at their limit for big dogs, the minute we said we were going to have to take him to the DDFL, they made room for him. Awesome place!

Hope they help, and I know since you really can't change your situation that you would love a new home for him rather than the alternative. It's awesome that you are a responsible dog owner rather than just letting him off on some street corner.
See if someone in your condo complex would be willing to take him for walks while you are gone for the day? Kinda like a dog walker? You could put an ad up near your mail box, offering X amount of dollars to walk your dog.
And community colleges and such offer obedience training.
I hate to see anyone lose their pet.
I dont know anyone in the complex, nor trust them. Otherwise I would do that!

Or you could put an ad in the paper, offering a free puppy to a family with a large back yard. That way you wouldnt have to worry about what'll happen to the little guy.
Well as some of you may remember (probably not) my dog passed away about a year ago now. After a couple months, me and my ex g/f (who was living with me at the time) decided to get another dog, this time a puppy. Between the two of us, someone was home 90% of the time, so he was fine. She moved out a few months ago, and I have been trying to take care of him on my own. He is a young puppy, and he has a lot of energy, so I am forced to keep him in a kennel while I am at work, which is sometimes 10-11 hours a day. I take him out right before I leave for work, and as soon as I get home, but he still has to hold his pee longer than he probably wants to. When I get home, he is wound up from being in his kennel all day and is VERY VERY hyper, and he drives me crazy. Also, my daughter (who doesnt live with me and is 3 months old) is going to start staying with me on sundays. He can't be around her because he is just too crazy. Same thing any time I have anyone over, he jumps all over them. Now I have come to the realization that I need to get rid of him. I think he would be happier with a house with a yard (which I dont have, I live in a condo). I will feel horrible for doing it, and it makes me very sad to think of not having him anymore. I plan on taking him in to the Denver Dumb Friends League on sunday. Do you all think I am making the right decision??
Hey, let me look up this animal shelter that does NOT put the animals to sleep if they aren't adopted within a certain amount of time. My ex did this and 3 mos later we went back and Buddy was still there just waiting for a home. ( he was about a 75 pd dog, so it was taking awhile to find a good home), but they won't put your pup to sleep like Dumb Friends will.
Lemme look it up and I'll post it. It's right downtown near the King Soopers on Speer and Colfax. I'll post in a minute.
