  • Do you believe in haunted places?

Do you or do you not. What is the scariest place that is close to you

I do. I believe that Hummel Park in North Omaha, Nebraska is the scariest place. I believe it could be used as a gate way to hell. There are satanic rituals performed there (rumor but I think it is true). I will never step foot in there. EVER. It is really scary. If you want to know more, google it.

You are right. I believe about 80 years ago, men were hanged along the long, narrow road leading up into that bluff of the park. It would be interesting to hear of the total fatalities that they know of thus far in that park.

I've been to Hummel Park many times. When I was a child I grew up close to the park and my family would picnic there or we'd take walks. However, it's an eery place to venture, lots of Indian history there as well, and just feels rather sacred and cursed due to all the murders there. It's beautiful there, but spooky as well.
It's so close to Fort Calhoun, the Indian history alone is extremely interesting.

Plus, what about the Black Angel right where you live, CB?
That has a long, long history all of it's own.

Funny thought....don't you feel like there are just some days....
you're surrounded by spooks, one way or the other?
        *Ohh....I'm funny*

I have been to that site. It is kinda freaky. Some of the pics

The Black Angel isnt cursed to my knowledge. Its just black. I think that the spirit of Grenville Dodge protects it . But we do have the cursed door (very unknown) and my elementary school was rumored to be haunted.

in my old house two weird things happened.

once my friend and i were playing nintendo sitting next to each other on the couch and a hat flew across the room- i dont have any brothers and sister and as far as i know we were the only ones in the basement- needless to say it freaked us both out, i still dont know how the hat flew across the room.

and this one is the scariest story ever! same house same basement-keep in mind we were all around 10 or so at the time- and one friend was playing nintendo across the room on the couch, and my other friend and i were playing hockey with the little remote control guys on the floor- all night we kept hearing this creaking sound, but never identified it. anyway eric looked up and on top of this tall dresser was a santa claus in a rocking chair with a green beard- there was no one down there but us, no vents were moving it, it was little and made of wood, it had no moving parts or battery powered or anything, and no one hit it to cause it to rock, anywya we stopped it form rocking and went about our games, and a little later it was rocking again- so we were getting a little on edge, we then moved it to a table and just sat and watched it from across the room and it started rocking again, so freaked out we threw it against the wall breaking the rocker and mr claus. into several pieces, and called it killer claus because he was going to get us.

so he was gone, broken in pieces and in the trash. later that year i moved to my new house and we were in the basement and there was the green bearded killer claus in perfect condition...oh got to go i will finish later.

It's hard to know 'what to think' exactly when there are strange occurrences that occur with you personally. I believe you.

About 8 years ago, my family moved into a townhome. I was upstairs by myself and my husband, brother, and mom were downstairs. I heard glass break, and then the sound of it being swept up into a dustpan and thrown into trash. These sounds are very distinct. I yelled down to my family and asked what they broke, and they said they heard it too and thought I had broken something. Okay.... went on my merry little way, didn't read too much into it.

About two months later, my daughter was 6 years old and she was brushing her teeth and getting ready for bed. I noticed the lights going on and off, and at that same time....my daughter comes running down the stairs, very excited and breathing hard saying "Mom, come quick, please, hurry!" I asked what was wrong, she was obviously distressed. "Mom, every time I turn the light on in my bedroom, 'someone' is turning it off!" Then she said, "Call Dad and ask him to come home, tell him it's an emergency!" (Like I couldn't take care of this---had to laugh a little to myself). So, I told her "I'll go upstairs with you sweetie, I'm sure there's a reason for the lights going on and off." So, I go up the stairs (and I will tell you....I'm a little afraid now). I go into each room, check each closet and room, and she's holding on to me like there's no tomorrow...it's hard to move that's how she's clinging to me. I turn on and off the lights in all the rooms....no problem....until I go back downstairs and she's alone again. This time though, I'm watching her from the bottom of the steps in the bathroom, and can see the bedroom light going on and off for myself and my daughter is no where close to the bedroom. I came across brave with my daughter, but I wasn't inside at all. I was very concerned about what was occurring.

Then we started hearing footsteps. My husband was home alone one day, came up from the basement and he said "someone obviously walked across our livingroom and right past me, because I could 'feel' the breeze and the footsteps in the carpeting go right along beside me." Well....there you have SIX people who had all experienced strange happenings, and we could not put a logical reason as to why they did occur, we just know they happened. Believe me, you WANT LOGICAL REASONS, because things unexplained are not comfortable.

We moved and bought a house. End of occurrences. That's all I know.

I appreciate non-believers though, very much....I used to be one myself.
