  • what would you do if...

every now and then this pops into my head and i get real worried. what would you guys do if one of your children decided to become a chiefs fan? or in my case a broncos fan. i'm not having a kid any time soon but that would really stress me out. i'll have to be sure to take my kids to plenty of games and dress them in all red at a young age. anyone else ever think about this?

Strong parental guidance/control can stop this madness. My oldest tried to defect to Atlanta because of Michael Vick but I stopped that before it got out of control. Generally though, when your kids see your intensity for your team and how they can bring out the kid in you, they will easily fall in love with that same team. If they decide to wander astray after they are no longer under your roof you can always disown them/cut them off.

Remember this...my mother is a RAIDER fan...and I turned out just fine didn't I? I say thats because my Dad is a Broncos fan and he taught me right. I'd like to hope that my kids like the same teams I do, but if they dont I'll still love em!

I never thought of that but it's kind of weird because my dad is a die hard Dolphins fan, since we live in South Florida, but ever since I started following football its always been about the Broncos for me. I never thought of how that made him feel. Now, he just makes fun of me whenever they lose (that 4 game streak was horrible) and I do the same to him, and thankfully we haven't lost as much as Miami in recent years.

See this is where you need to watch out. My mother is a Chiefs fan and I turned out fine right? Well she's working on my 2 year old son already. I mean I've given him a heavy dose of Broncomania but he really like his grandma and listens to her.

I like Elwayforprez's remarks, strong parental guidance is your best bet, but other than that your gonna have your hands full with a kid other than worring wether hes gonna be a raiders or chiefs fans.

I let my sons (8 and 9) root for any college team they want except the Texas Longorns. But NFL, since they were born I've drilled in their heads Raiders suck, Chiefs suck, and Chargers suck and back then the Seahawks sucked. Now my little girl (2) is getting taught the right way. It's called parental guidance. Other than that, as long as it doesn't effect the Broncos they can root for another team.

I really wouldn't care. I think it would be nice to root for the Broncos together with them, but football really shouldn't mean so much to you that it affects your relationships with your children.

I tell my kids (now both over 20) they can root for any team they want as long as it's the Broncos.

There are two kinds of teams in the AFCW; The losers and the Broncos!!!

                        Good Job.

I freaked out when I heard that my Nephew and godson was wearing a Ravens hat... at a friends house... He lives in Baltimore... I'm 1800 miles away... but he's gotten a bunch of Broncos Memorabilia since... and I've gotten my sister into football in the process... she was a member here for a while too.

This is a very serious situation...

                          there are signs for this.

You need to be a good parent and if you feel your son or daughter are experimenting. You need to sit down and talk with them before it is to late.

I recomend to talk with them before and at a earlly stage.

If it is to late there might be help for this disease. Maybe lock them in a room full of Bronco stuff.

If you see him sneaking another teams gear in the house... its over

You need to say listen son I love you and all but get out

                            They beat you didn't they?

Oh nevermind the Raiders can't beat anyone.

Well I guess it'd make the household very itneresting!

Son walks into the room holding Al Davis' hand.

Son: Mom, Dad, I think I might be a Raiders fan.

Parents: Get out you're not my son!!!
