Ian Johnson is already being outdone.

The Boise State star capped the Fiesta Bowl by proposing to his cheerleader girlfriend and made headlines and highlight reels everywhere.

A mystery man in Southern California is doing him one better, popping the question in a 30-second Super Bowl ad at a cost of $2.5 million, according to a report in the Daily News.

An undisclosed company is actually footing the bill, after his attempts to drum up the cash necessary turned up just $75,000 in donations.

The commercial will be seen by up to 100 million people, with the prospective couple watching at home. Her response will be recorded and posted to video-hosting sites like YouTube immediately afterward.

The man, known only as J.P., called his plan "the most public declaration of love in the history of mankind."

His spokesman expects it to be a hit with single women everywhere.

"Of those who have seen it, there wasn't a dry eye," said publicist Jamie O'Donnell told the paper. "Women who saw it were saying, 'If she doesn't marry him, I will.' "

    try topping this guy.

I'd do it, if I had the money. My baby deserves the best, plus I want the world to know I'm hittin' that...

Bet she'd turn me down. In public if you will.

Why not? Sounds like fun to me.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I love my wife to death, but there is no way in high hell that I am forking out that kind of money JUST to propose...my proposal was free, she said yes...I've got game...no need to spend money to do it right.
