  • If you could write a letter now & give to yourself 10 yrs ago?

What would it say? Would you warn yourself of things, encourage yourself to try something that now you regret passing up?

It will be fun to see some of the answers, because of the wide age range here.

I would say if I wrote a letter 10 yrs ago, I would tell myself to not be so hard on myself. That the 10-20 pounds up & down here & there really are not the worst things in the world.

I would tell myself to really make time & cherish that time with family, because it can be taken away so quickly. I would overall remind myself that the kind of house I buy, or even the job I have is not the things that will stick with me or will be the meaningful memories of down the road.

Ok, and I might warn myself that my mother in law turns out to be a great big beeach & don't waste any effort in trying to make a relationship with her.

      - You don't have to be married to have a baby.
      - Take really, really, good care of your own body.
      - Don't transfer to another school that won't accept your credits.
      - Save money.
      - Don't move out of state yet.
      - Don't play match maker.
      - Stop depending on a man to save you and make you happy, he's never going to show up.
      - Never, never, never, never settle for anything less than what you truly want.
      - Work hard, play harder.

Keep my sense of humor always.

Don't live your life pleasing other people.

Surround yourself with loving, caring people only.

Tell people more often "Don't even go there".

        This too shall pass.

Friends are as important as relatives, sometimes more.
        (excluding your own children)

Always have 'date night' with your husband every week.

Give yourself as much compassion as you would others you love.

Hindsight, it's a beautiful thing that you never discover until it's too late.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

              Only two things.

Keep the house I sold three years ago and keep the job I quit 5 years ago.
The job is a long story.

Even though I was TEN ten years ago I would have to tell myself:

                              1. Don't talk to her, she is going to make you hate your senior year.
                              2. Look at him but know he's a jerk, dont let him break your heart.
                              3. Try hard at school! Dont give up.
                              4. Talk to HIM....dont waste four years waiting for him to talk to you.
                              5. Watch more baseball.
                              6. Don't get in that truck....you will get peed on.
                              7. Don't forgive her, shes lying to you.

                              Thats it.
                              ...capture it...remember it...
