Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

The truth becuase if he was from the west he would answer "I'm from the West"
and if he was from the East he would answer "I'm from the West"
So yes, he told the truth.
Well, isn't that assuming the guy he asked, told Him the truth......or a lie?

Okay, either way, the 1st person will say "I live in the West".
Thus, the tour guide must be from the West, since he said the exact same thing to Johnny (if he lived in the East, the tour guide would have said "he lives in the east").
The problem never was to figure out where the 1st person is from
Well, the way it reads.....
The problem was to decide whether the guy walking, was from the east or the west. "He asked the tour guide to ask that guy where he lives."
Which means the tour guide has to ask where the guy is from, to decide whether what he's saying is true or not.......and in the meantime, Smith has to determine which side his tour guide is from, to determine whether what He's saying is true or not....

Johnny Smith visited an island. There were 2 tribes living on this island. The east tribal people always tell a lie. The west tribal people always tell the truth.
Johnny saw a guy passing him. He asked the tour guide to ask that guy where he lives. The tour guide asked the guy and came back with the answer: he lives over west. Did the tour guide tell the truth or tell a lie
It never implies he is from the island.
You have to interject some common sense into these stories....
...like why would a guy from kansas be a tour guide on the 'island'....

There are only 2 possible scenarios, each iwht two possible outcomes, which = to 4 possible answers.

SCENARIO 1
The man said he lives West. He's telling the truth. If the tour guide lived West, he would've told the truth said West.
If the tour guide lived east, he would've lied and said the guy lived just up the block from him, East.
SCENARIO 2
If the man said he lived East, he would've lied and said he lived West.
If the tour guide lived East, he would've lied and said he said he lived East. A lie of a lie. If the tour guide lived West, he would've told the truth and said what the guy said, West.
Both of those red bolded are what the tour guide would've said in both scenarios with both outcomes, which was West. And he would've told the truth in both those scenarios which would've been West.
It doesn't matter where the tour guide is from. Nobody from the island will say they live east. If the tour guide lies, he'll say the guy said east. But he said west, so he was telling the truth, regardless of if the native said he lived east or west.
