  • It's Snowing Here in CO

Currently, it's 19 degrees and snowing. I'd say that there's about an inch+ on the ground. Tomorrow's game could be interesting.

I miss Colorado too, but to be honest I don't miss the snow and cold and wind, we get plenty of it where I live anyways...yuck. It can make for interesting games though

I just talked to one of my friends on the phone. Sounds like the roads are icy too. Now I don't want to go anywhere and feel imprisoned.

Me, too! I'm very jealous. I used to live in Colorado Springs and I LOVED the snow. I now live in southern Texas and it never, never snows here. I'm sure I'll get homesick during the Broncos game tomorrow.

Sometimes they make me homesick too. That's why I like getting the Denver channels on satellite, it helps feel a little closer to home every day, right now I better get closer to finishing my laundry!LOL
              Cheers
P.S. I graduated from Air Academy High. I had a paper route two of those years, I learned to nail the papers down even if the wind wasn't blowing at the time since chinooks could sneak up on me and make a mess.

Here in Iowa the whole state is under a winter storm advisory...but I haven't seen that snow all day.

                  Eewww!

I graduated from Rampart. There was a nice rivalry between those high schools when I was there.

The only thing I don't like about snow is the driving conditions. I wouldn't get too overconfident in 4x4 SUVs either.

A few years ago on a weekday, I drove to Vail on my own to go snowboarding. The weather was horrible. I don't know what I was thinking. Between Silverthorne and Frisco, there were SUVs that slid off the road left and right. I was in my little blue Honda Civic hatchback, so I thought I was screwed for sure. I drove carefully and made it to Vail and was thankful that my luck didn't run out that day.

No joke. The danger of driving in the icy weather is the only thing I don't miss. And it doesn't always matter how safe you drive; it only takes one idiot who thinks their 4-wheel drive is impervious to icy roads to make your safe driving a moot point.

A few weeks back it rained then night came around and dropped temps below freezing. The ice took FOREVER to scrape off! Just going somewhere in the winter practically doubles the normal trip time.

Okay enough winter negativity. Just for you guys, think snowball fights, sledding/skiing/snowboarding/snowshoeing, and snow angels.

While I do no particularly miss the extreme cold of my PA youth, I do miss seeing everything coated in white.

Yesterday was the first day I wore any type of jacket or sweater, and its a week from Thanksgiving!

The game could be very low scoring, or have lots of turnovers.....

Everybody's gotta elevate from the norm...

Yeah, i know what you mean. the lack of real seasons in so. cal hits me the hardest around the holiday. there's one tree outside my dining room window that changes colors, and that's what i focus on, my only real hint to the passing of time. i really miss seeing everything smothered in white too. having lived in both colorado and minnesota, i know what a pain winter can be as well, but there's really nothing like being inside and cozy on christmas morning when the world is white and peaceful....sigh....
