  • --- Having Said That, ---

--- Are you as sick as I am of hearing the phrase, “having said that” ?

--- Politicians, and other elected officials use “having said that” in order to switch horses in the middle of the stream.

--- “Having said that” is a license to do a 180, a “flip-flop” if you will.

--- Every broadcaster, commentator, editorialist, reporter, critic and journalist run this phrase into the ground to cover their hind parts.

--- Especially sickening is the use of “having said that” by sports reporters and sports analysts.

--- It is a free ticket to ride both sides of the fence !!!

--- Every pundit on the planet uses this lame cop-out !!!

--- If you are sick of this phrase “HAVING SAID THAT”, join the movement to have these words BANNED from the media !!!

--- Having said that, help eliminate this insulting cliché by clicking on one of these links

I agree with you AZ. It can be annoying.

Now having said that, I guess the media has to say something.

    I couldn't resist.

I thnk it's just lazy communicating, they can't think of another way to transistion. Having said that, I think the phrase "been there, done that" should be destroyed.

make the point and we'll all get it you idiot.

          also
"well find out right after this break"
this is more on news, gameshows, or talk shows

I'm hesitant to post here, because I'm afraid of killing another one of your threads,
but having said that, I agree the phrase is faddish and lazy.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
