    My god I hate moving...

Just found out that I'm moving to Houston, Texas in
    a month, or two.

I was really looking forward to this year. I had just gotten
comfortable with the people here, my HS football team has
a very good chance at going back-2-back in state (I have
been working really hard this year at football).

The thought of starting over from scratch just kills me.
I'm completely uninterested in playing football elsewhere
    than Jenks.

I just needed somewhere to vent...

I am sorry to hear that Nick. I never had to move when I was younger, but I am sure it is tough, but you indicated that you had just gotten comfortable with the people where you are now, and I am sure that you will be able to do that again in Houston. I hear that Texas is very much into their football in high school, so that would be good for you. Just try to think positive, and I am sure it will work out for you.

Nick - it really is hard moving once you establish friends and school friends, activities, etc. It's much easier for adults to make that transition than for kids, because they just don't have any options or choices in the situation. I feel your pain. Been there and did that as a kid and it can stink! However, you'll be best to get yourself into a good mindset, because it's happening buddy, no matter what. Just don't close doors for yourself in your new school. Hope you do well through it all. Keep us posted on how it goes, okay?
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I was fortunate enough to be able to stay in my hometown, even though my mom wanted to move when I was in high school. I can only hope things go well for you, and I'm sure they will man. I don't know what advice to give, but embrace this and don't try and fight it. Here's one statistic, 97% of the people you know in High School won't even be in your life a few years after graduation. That's a fact too - because I only talk to about 10-15 of the 200 people I graduated with, so it's not quite there, but - you get the drift.

Keep your head up, we're all here for you and just keep shreddin' the guitar. If you ever need an ear, or some advice - even though I just said I don't know what to say - let me know. Hopefully all goes well.

My dad was in the military and my luck had me attend 3 different high schools. And I hated moving each and every time. However, I ended up enjoying each high school I attended, although in different ways.

I feel your pain because it sucks to move but just try to make the best of things and you'll be okay.

Also, Houston is a pretty nice city for a Big City. No city is perfect but there is lots to do there and it isn't quite as crowded as say Los Angeles or NYC. Chicago and Denver are still my faves but Houston ain't too shabby.

                        Good luck on everything!

Dude if you play football then you won't have any problems making friends then but it does suck to move to another school during high school, that would be the worst.

                              Wow..Im sorry Nick..

Moving can be an upsetting thing! It will be ok though!.. You are old enough where you can keep in touch with all of your old friends and make plenty new ones ..

You never know.. you can help your new school's football team go to state.

                              Good Luck!
