No, you’re not crazy. Life is just not fair—never was. I did my part in supporting you in terms of big age differences not really being a good idea, in terms of relationships.

That, of course, was a generalization. Ideally, a man and a woman will stick to their own g-gen-eration.

But, in reality, people bend the “rules.”

In re-thinking all of this, the problem actually is on your own shoulders here. You cannot remove the fact (allegedly) that a certain girl (or girls) you know are now seeing older men. However, you CAN remove said girls from your mind! Ain’t that great news?!

It has become apparent to me that you are obsessed with some girl who is not exactly… shall we say “compatible”… with your way of thinking?

I can Identify. Whenever, in the past, I have run across such conundrums, I simply passed. I never wondered after (or tried to leash) a girl of whom I had sensed that her interests greatly differed from my own.

So, in that respect, I agree with KC: just let it go.

I dont plan on making a big deal of it when im out there, but i just feel that this is out of the norm. I dont know it just bothers me, i just think of it from the 35 year old's point of view, i mean what is he really doing with a teenager? What are his friends saying? "hey thats great you found someone"? or "dude i cant believe your hittin that"?

But ya, to soon to tell.
            Well… I’m 36, so I guess I could tell my opinion about that…

Of course, I wouldn’t mind having fun with 18+ sweeties
Now, would I like to live with a 18y/o girlie? Tough question… depends on the relationship you have…

About men, having a younger girlie is often great… they are often proud of it…
Personally, I wouldn’t mind living with a younger girlie (even 10+ difference)… The other question is how can the girlie could deal with that (especially when time will pass by)…
I don’t think there is a exact or correct answer… Each case is personal…

Now you can debate with those people to know more about that…

PS : Can you send me a 18 y/o girlie so I could really test and answer your question?

PS 2 : huh… But don’t tell to my wife!

                  I totally agree.

Anyway, I dont know why everyone is accusing me of jealousy, even if i was what difference would it make?
As the poster was stating, Jared would instill good judgement on his daughter. That doesn't mean she won't bring home a 35 yr old man, it means that if she DOES bring him home to meet them, it's because she finds him to be a good and quality person that she loves and wants them to meet him. So the fact that she has good judgement, means that despite the age difference, he's a good man.

Again.. let me point this out to you. Why would you think, for a second, that the older man is 'taking advantage' of her any more than some boy in his 20's? I think you are so close minded and believe that everyone belongs in their tiny catagories and boxes, that you can't understand when people don't see life that way.

As far as how jealousy would change your opinion. Its not outside the common sense of feeling that people that see a situation through jealous eyes, aren't looking clearly. Immediately you think the guys are taking advantage, are bad guys, are 'creepy'. You dont' know them, yet immediately feel they are bad guys. Purely because of the age difference? No. Its because its an older guy that is with the girl you want.

At 19, as a legal adult, and living on her own, she must be responsible for her own choices.

                    Good or bad.

I would of course raise any concerns I had AFTER meeting the man in question, but as long as she is on her own, she has to make decisions, good or bad, and deal with the consequences, good or bad. That what being an adult is. There is only so much I can do for her once she is an adult.

If she is a full time student and still in any way dependent on us, then there is MORE I could say or do, but ultimately, I cannot control or protect her like I would a small child.

I mean, hell, I may actually like the guy. I have to at least meet the person who my daughter is choosing to spend her time with.

And who to say that SHE is not taking advantage of him? That DOES happen you know. You seem to totally be ignoring that.

Also, you have not answered any of my questions. You deflected answering and asked me questions without providing answers to mine.

Everybody's gotta elevate from the norm...

C’mon, dear nephew! Don’t be greedy—there’s enough to go around! Of course, we may have to downsize your Ferrari to a Ford Escort, but…

You may be right about her being an imposter—she doesn’t look a think like me!? Maybe it’s the beard??
