Let me break it down for all of you in here. You can find the link on NBA.com for all that stuff.
Yes, Phil Jackson will not be back with the Lost Angeles Fakers. Shaq is asking to be traded because he is unhappy where the Organization is heading. Kobe has opted out of his contract to test the Free Agency market.
But here is the thing. If Shaq does not get traded and stays, Kobe Bryant will most likely will not be back with the Lakers. If they do trade Shaq, Kobe Bryant will stay in a Fakers uniform. They would pay him the max, which is a 7 year contract worth $140 million. That is more than any other team can pay him. Gary Payton will defiantly be back because he will get paid $5.4 million where he wouldn't get that money from any other team plus Phil Jackson is gone so now he can be back to his old self again. That is if the new Coach let's him. Karl Malone said he would only come back if he is 100% healthy. I think he's done and had enough of it.
But Shaq or Kobe, one of them will not be back. I am pretty sure of that. I think the most likely scenario is that Shaq gets traded and Kobe stays. If Kobe Bryant leaves I say he goes to the Knicks, well I hope. I wouldn't want him in Denver. I don't want anybody taking the spot light away from the new John Elway of Colorado, Carmelo Anthony.Last edited by Broncos28; 06-19-2004, 03:19 AM.
