Hmm. That would definitely suck. If that's true, I would avoid buying their full product just as a matter of principle.

I also have Yahoo's pop-up blocker which worked fantastically when I first started using it. But now there are a lot of third-party pop-ups starting to get by it and I'm not sure why. Any recommendations on a good, free pop-up blocker? Tried Google's?

      Yeh - I actually use google's & it's great.

The third party popup is probably spyware - get spybot! I'm telling you!

the most annyoing things are the spyware and internet hijackers that my sister has managed to get onto the home computer (thank god for my own....). And there are popups ON THE HARD DRIVE which pop up every 2 minutes. Makes we want to scream.

Have you tried Ad-Aware or Spybot (BlueDamsel's recommendation) to get rid of the pop-ups?

Yes muse - go to http://www.download.com and get SpyBot Search & Destroy (Spybot SD). Install & run it - should get rid of everything.

Jav you should read the terms of agreement from your ISP presented you when you signed up for the account. If there is a clause in there promising to *never* sell your email address to anyone, it's lawsuit time. After all, they made money off of you and every other person they provide internet access for, they might as well pass that on to you for braking terms. I am by no means a lawsuit happy person- in fact I detest most - but I detest dishonest companies and these types of sales tactics more.

Congrats - I also highly suggest the google toolbar to keep the pesky popups away when surfing...For sites that you trust or don't mind the popups on (like this site - For some reason if I have pop ups turned off, it doesn't tell me when I have a pm) you can make sure that the pop ups stay on....Plus it helps with doing quick searches (I have my settings so that each search opens a new window, so if I need to find something, but don't want to go through the hassle of losing where I am, I can just type what I'm searching for in the google bar)

Well maybe not 1000, but about 500 of that in my inbox...I usually have like 3 or 4 pages of that kind of stuff...

Are you using hotmail? It should have a spam filter - you should update it so that only messages from known contacts get into your inbox.
