As of right now Im am currently working a 10 hour job earning $20.00 an hour monday through thursday and 8 hours on friday and saturday.
Basically 56 hours a week and 212 hours a month.
They pay is good but I do not have much of a social or personal life anymore.
Right now I have been given the opportunity to work a new job that pays $24an hour but for only 32 hours a week and 120 hours a month.
Thats almost 1oo hours less.
Now when you do the math, I would be making more money if I stayed put where I am at right now but 212 hours monthly is a very long time to work especially if the work is hard physically.
I am basically laboring 10 hours out the day, doing mill and carpentry work. I assemble granite counter tops for resturants around the Denver metro area.
My new job would be designing plans and layouts for the same company in a corprate role, but if I take the position I cant really go back if I dont succeed in this new position, Im pretty that wouldnt be the issue because I know what Id be doing.
Anyway Id be making more money an hour ($24.00 an hour to be exact) but with less hours a month, Id be losing out on almost $400 dollars.
Now I know money isnt everything especially if you really arent all that happy doing what you do but 400 is alot of money.
Now on the flip side, Id be making some decent money and I would have my social life back (which is pretty non-existent anyway) but Id have alot of free time to do other things.
Im just at a crossroads right now, I dont know which road to take. Your advice would great be appreciated.
