Yes, I thought I'd get away with no-one noticing my birthday, but no such luck, huh?
I turned 35 today, and geez, I don't feel a day over 34. This is the time that people say you look at your life and see if you are where you thought you'd be. This is my reality check, and for those of you who are younger, this is what you get to look forward to. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with my life, but the 18 year-old me would want to kill me.
18 Year-Old Bomber thought at 35 he'd:
Be a millionaire
Have sex with whoever he wants, whenever he wants
Drive a (insert luxury car here)
Spend weekends & vacations at summer home on a lake.
Party till 4 am, sleep till noon, start over
Reality:
Sell pens & paper clips for a living
Have sex with one person, and only when SHE wants.
Drive an SUV with a car seat (soon to be 2) and window shades on the windows.
Spend weekends & vacations at summer home on a lake.
Parties include goody-bags, ice-cream cake, and cleanup till 4 am. Sleep till 6, and go to work.
All in all life is good. Thanks again, all of you!

I will be celebrating on Sunday, so I may not get to work on Monday. that'll be 8 years in a row I haven't made it to work the next day.Comment

Looking at what the 18 year old wanted, you might not have made it to 35.
My turn to take stock comes in a few months.Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.
It's easy to have faith in yourself and have discipline when you're a winner, when you're number one. What you got to have is faith and discipline when you're not a winner.
