  • Please keep my family and I in your thoughts.

My family and i experienced a sudden loss early tuesday morning. My uncle archie, who i loved like a dad, passed away from a massive heart attack. Im still very upset and sad at this time, so its taking alot just to type this much. Please just keep my family and I in your thoughts while we go through this extremely hard time. Thank you all.

I can tell you that this pain will never go away. That's life. But as time goes on, the pain is easier to cope with. You will experience brief moments when you are in denial. You will experience even larger moments when you are grief stricken. But years from now, as life takes it's course, he will be a fantastic memory.

My grandfather passed away 3 years ago (ironically three years ago today) from a stroke, most likely from the medication he was taking to fight his colon cancer. I still miss him today, but the pain is lessened. But it is still there. Now all I do is flashback to the good times, going to my grandparents' house on the weekends to watch Georgia Championship Wrestling, since I didn't have cable at that time. My grandfather's cookouts and staying up with him playing cards to 2:00 in the morning. Hearing his World War II stories. That's all we can do. Life can be a cruel dictator. But if you roll with the punches, it can be the best friend you ever had.

Let's start cheering you up. I'd start you off by watching Aaron Brooks highlights. Always brings a chuckle to my lips.

Thanks alot DS. Its hard to think about the future, because the pain is still so raw right now. Im a young guy (25), and i know im going to experience alot more of these times. It just still seems surreal to me at this point. I loved my uncle alot, and its just so hard for me to believe he's gone. I guess all i can do is hope that time does lessen this blow, because right now it seems like this pain will go on forever. Maybe i will go watch aaron brooks.... then again, it might just make me depressed. Anyway, thanks for your support bro.
