PLEASE Ruiz, don't sign with us! There's teams who are better and have more money than us.
This would be a terrible signing IMO. I understand we'd move Rosario to first and let Ruiz play catcher, but about 7.5 million per year is too much for a guy who doesn't hit very well anymore. He can still field, but that's overpaying.
The Rockies offered Ruiz a two-year, $15MM deal with a buyout (presumably on a club option for year three), according to Troy Renck of the Denver Post (on Twitter). The Rockies won't go to $20MM, however, and they're prepared to move on to the outfield/first base market if they can't strike a deal with Ruiz.
