(OK, i very rarely stayed up until the end of the 10.30pm ET games (3.30am my time). But I did see one or two of them.

Which is exactly why I didn’t want the lakers. If they get that much free throw disparity over 6 games against Curry it’s going to be even worse for us.

Big key in this series aside from defending without fouling is going to be Jokic vs AD, who would’ve thought? Much like I was saying how our auxiliary guys needed to make Booker and Durant work on defense, Jokic is going to have to make AD work on that end. Unfortunately AD is one of the best Jokic defenders in the league, so it won’t be as simple as just posting him up as much. No I think Jokic is going to have to be running off more screens this series to wear down Davis and help neutralize him on offense. Defensively i don’t know who’s grabbing that assignment. Gordon makes sense but it’s leaves a rather slight KCP to pick up James. Bruce Brown might have to eat into MPJ’s minutes in a big way this series. Christian Braun is also likely to get some minutes on James, but I don’t doubt that he’ll rise to the occasion, he’s been impressive all season long when tasked with elite scorers.

I don’t think this Lakers team can shoot with us when we’re on, but this is a late playoff run and I’m worried about Murray and MPJ being able to keep their legs. Murray will feed off the crowd so I think he can push through it for spurts but I think MPJ is going to have to be aggressive attacking the basket rather than shooting 3s, same thing with KCP. Get some easy ones at the rim to get yourself going before testing those 3 point waters. I don’t think the Lakers had a tough road to get here, or at least not as tough as the names of the teams would imply. And this is a team that can stagnate on offense with the best of them (just like us) but we have to stay aggressive and push the issue, we can’t let guys like Reaves, Walker, Russell, Hachimura, or Schroeder have big nights.

I like how LA thought they could just let MPJ and Murray come off the Jokic dribble handoff and let them shoot threes. LA has a hell of a time with Denver when they play fast and Jokic is dragging Davis out of the paint.
