If they tried Davis on Porter with Gordon out, I'd go right back to the screen game, but that would spread the floor either way. You could create a LeBron problem defensively though. Otherwise, I'd agree with having Jokic work more from the elbow against that defense. I think Ham intentionally saved that until the end of the game. As far as letting Murray or Porter have open looks, that's a cardinal sin, IMO. Another thing about Jokic, as incredible as that game was, I'd like to see him be a little more aggressive to get his late in the game with a smaller guy on him. Like to see him decisively shoot over the guy, because just about any shot he gets down there is better than the alternative when he's playing like that.
As much as I don’t want to say it, I think conditioning was an issue last night. He was beating Davis up and down the court the entire first half, but that 2nd half he wasn’t pushing the pace. It didn’t hurt too much in the 3rd because Murray and KCP were cooking but it definitely became an issue in the 4th.

Jeff Green also had an atrocious run yet again. He hit a big 3 but outside of that he was really bad on both ends. Him and Braun on offense were just watching in awe, and as athletic as they are, they need to be cutting hard a lot. They can’t let themselves get intimidated by Davis being in the paint. And green on defense was even worse. I get wanting veteran experience on the court in the playoffs but honestly he’s just hurting the bench. I think the brash youthful arrogance of Watson would serve us better. He’s going to play tough defense and he’s going to attack the basket hard because he doesn’t know any better. He’s more athletic than Green and longer. While he wasn’t considered a 3 point shooter coming out, he looks to be much improved off his limited time in the nba. If he gets in foul trouble, then you still have green in your back pocket.

You never know. Lakers hit the lottery bringing Lonnie Walker back into the rotation. Makes them a different team, because he gets his own shot and he doesn't seem to be too much of a liability. It's like another Austin Reaves out there. I've never been big on Green though. I remember when he was with the Cavs, and you knew he was good for a play here and there, but he never seemed to have any consistency. Richard Jefferson past his prime was way, way better. Smarter player too.

Over/Under for Laker free throws is 50. I think Murray already has 3 fouls.

          • One other adjustment I failed to mention that I think we’ll probably see tonight, keep Gordon in the dunker spot because LeBron was getting between Gordon and the basket to help cover for AD roaming. By doing this, he left MPJ wide open in the corner with no way of getting through a Gordon screen. And if Reaves or whoever rotates down to MPJ then you’re swinging it KCP and Jamal Murray who are equally as deadly from 3.

As a team we can go hot and cold from 3 so hopefully at home this will be another game where MPJ, KCP, and Murray get it going and keep it going. The media seems to think the Lakers figured out the Nuggets, but if anything they just added a tool to throw at Jokic. And you’re going to need an entire toolbox plus some to keep him down. I’m looking forward to seeing what adjustments are made tonight, I expect more subtle adjustments than wholesale changes as Malone typically holds onto those as long as he can. So we might see more of MPJ shooting from the corner with Davis roaming.

Sure enough, Porter and KCP have 2 apiece in 5 minutes.

              • Lakers whistle already in business.

6/7 from the FT line with another 2 to come. They only have 16 total points!

Yeah. Porter 2, KCP 2, Braun 2. We're actually holding up OK so far considering.

                  • Don't know why Joker is so passive and not attacking the rim.

                    • Lakers fouling Jokic constantly. Hardly any being called.

                        • Tough quarter but even so, Jokic 9 and Murray 8.

                          • Non Joker minutes are going to kill them. Hachimura a one man team this quarter.

                            • Bench has to step it up.

                              • Someone needs to step up and take this Hachimura matchup personally. If only Green could get himself in foul trouble but he’s never close enough to his assignment
