  • Without Jokic and Barton we would have almost no points.

This is a sad state of affairs. A team with unlimited potential and its being wasted. The championship window will close without a trophy and the Nuggets will slide back into mediocrity.....

      • Bench is so, so bad.

Campazzo is the worst player in the league and JaMychal Green has gotta be bottom ten as well.
        Anyone seen Jake Plummer?

        • MPJ possibly out for the season. The hits just keep on coming.

            • Hawks Twitter ecstatic that Trae Young scored 34 points today. But let's break this down:

              12-27 FGM
              1-6 3PM
              9-10 FT

              A -/- score of -4.

He did have 10 assists but that is not a good performance.

In fact the Hawks had 32 FT in the game to Denver's 18. Jokic sat the entire 3Q on 4 fouls and still ended with a much better overall performance than Trae:

              8-12 FGM
              1-2 3PM
              3-3 FG

              10 Rebounds
              7 Assists.

              A +/- of +13.

But the true story of the night was the performance of the bench especially Bones Hyland:

              24 PTS
              8-11 FGM
              4-5 3PM
              4-5 FTM

              +/- +15

              • Huge win last night. Hopefully Campazzo is done. The bench looks so much better with Hyland running the point. It’s still a terribly small unit with Hyland, Forbes, and Rivers and that may cost us a bit. Rivers has been hot recently so it hasn’t been an issue yet but how long will the Forbes trade motivate him? Ride him while hes hot, but Davon Reed should be ready to go at a moments notice because Rivers needs to be on a short leash.

But having Cousins presence at the 5 is big, he’s been great at securing boards. Was a bit worried when he didn’t play last night but Green played well and looks to have more chemistry on the offensive end with Hyland than running with Campazzo earlier in the season. The big change outside of Campazzo has been Nnaji at the 4, he has so much more freedom on both ends now and it’s allowing him to play really well as opposed to having to bang in the post on defense which he isn’t suited for and hes much better crashing the glass from the perimeter than down low. On offense hes much better as a spot up shooter/cutter than a pick and roll/pop guy and again hes much better crashing the glass from the perimeter especially since he doesn’t have to worry about getting back on defense as much.

With a Murray return looming, there will be big questions for the rotation. Malone unfortunately loves these super small 3 guard lineups so we’ll likely end up with a trio of Morris, Forbes, and Hyland which won’t be good IMO. I would start looking to move Monte, not to knock him but Hyland has more potential and doesn’t play as well when he’s not running the point. Try to get another 3 and D wing or a microwave scorer off the bench, package jamychal green if you have to but we have to get bigger with this bench unit. MPJ unfortunately only muddles the situation even more as Jeff Green goes back to the bench presumably to play the 4 alongside Boogie and we sacrifice some valuable development of Nnaji or try to force him into the 3 spot, he can play there and maybe Green’s versatility would allow us to hide him on defense a bit. I would love for Grant to come back but that likely won’t be possible but maybe a Malik Beasley reunion could be in the cards? He’s been off all season so maybe he comes cheap and can find his rhythm again here.

                • Facundo Campazzo in his last 5 games (averaged over 14 minutes)
                  15.4% shooting from the field
10% shooting from the 3 point line
50% shooting from the free throw line
1.8 PPG, 2.4 personal fouls per game

                  He's staggeringly horrible.

It's literally 4 on 5 when he's on the court. The other team completely ignores him unless he has the ball and is dribbling. If he's stationary or anyone else has the ball they act like he's not even out there.

Yeah I wish Malone didn’t have this obsession with him. I wonder where we’d be in the standings if he didn’t play so many minutes throughout the season.

I get why he’s on the team, the energy he plays with is incredible something that he wants the rest of the team to have, but he doesn’t have to play for that. I’m sure they see it enough in practice. He’s just too poor of an offensive player and not good enough as an on ball defender to be anywhere close to breaking even.

He should have been cut. He's taking up a roster spot which means we won't be able to bring Davon Reed to the playoffs with us.

The reason it looks like he plays with such "energy" is because he's constantly out of position and physically incapable of playing any straight up defense. His only way to make up for it is to take gigantic gambles all the time. The result is 1 or 2 "hustle" highlight plays every night versus 7 or 8 plays where he just leaves us completely out to dry because his gamble failed.

He's the worst offensive player on the team by a lot and the worst defensive player on the team by a lot. And he's the smallest player in the NBA. And he's already over 30.

He brings literally nothing to the table.

                      • Looking ahead to Nuggets v 76ers tomorrow night...

Embiid tonight v Magic (in regulation) 8/26(!) FGs and somehow has 33 points.

                        • Facundo Campazzo in his final 12 regular season games: 20 points on 32 shots (on the playoff roster)
Vlatko Cancar: last forward on the bench, only played 15 games this season (on the playoff roster)

Markus Howard tonight: 25 points on 17 shots (not on the playoff roster)
Davon Reed: 43% from the 3 point line on the season, best wing defender on the team (not on the playoff roster)

Total garbage. Either one of Reed or Howard could actually help us in a playoff game, but the Nuggets refused to cut Campazzo or Cancar to make room for one of them. Reed and Howard are on two-way deals and the deadline to convert them to full time contracts and make them eligible to play in the postseason was Friday.

Both Campazzo and Cancar are on expiring deals, completely out of the rotation, and won't be re-signed. And the Nuggets would've saved money in terms of real cash and in terms of cap space if they cut them for Howard and Reed. We literally kept them to avoid hurting their feelings.

                          Loser mentality.

Honestly this is probably the worst 48 win playoff team in league history. They are likely to get swept by the Warriors. Jokic is the only reason they even avoided the play in game.

I’m glad they over achieved but this team will do nothing without Murray and MPJ to help Joker.

It's not that bad a team, just inconsistent. We've beaten the Warriors 2 out of 3 this season.

Sure they are. Without Joker the record would be flipped and they would be 34-48 or worse. They aren’t very good at home this year which is rare.

I’d predict at best 1 win out of 5 against the Warriors and wouldn’t be a bit surprised at a sweep.
