In the Mouth of Madness 9.1 - This is one of John Carpenters films that I remembered recently... Terrific horror flick. This movie would be placed in my top 15 Horror flicks of all time. Absolute terrific film and great story line. I would recomend this one to any one that wants to be entertained.

Beyond the Gates (2007) 9.5 - Just watch it... absolutly great movie about the genecide in rawanda in 94. Flat out amazing film. I liked everything about this film... They film where it actually tooken place and had survivors help with the film. I liked this film al ot better then Hotel Rwanda because they explain and show what "really" happened and how it was.

As far as movies about the genocide in Rwanda in 1994. There is also alot of great documentaries and books regarding the tradegy that occured.

    Beyond the gates 9.5

    Hotel Rwanda 9.2

    Sometimes In April 8.1

Shawshank Redemption 10 - By far, hands down, "The" best film ever made.

Usual Suspects 9.9 - By far, hands down, "The" second best film ever made.

Fracture 8.5 - Great movie. Ending can be a little predicatable in a couple parts. Might not be predictable for everyone though. Great cast of acters and the acting is pretty good and very phone to watch.

Ju-On (Grudge) 7.5 - I actually like the american version a little better because of the special effects. It is a ok movie. Nothing to great.

Perfect stranger 7.9 - This movie is watchable... just not that good. If Bruce Willis was not in it it might be low 7's. Hallaberry is overrated.

Vacancy 6.7 - I only watched this because my wife wanted to. I could tell it was going to be cheesy. 9mm is a far better snuff film movie that I would recommend. This movie is way way to predictable. horibble acting. very predictable direction and lines. I could not wait for this movie to be over.

Super bad 8.4 - I thought this movie was really really funny. I was laughing pretty hard. I rated this higher after I saw it but when you look back at the movie it was not all that "Great". This is a movie that you will watch one time only. If you like funny movies... This is a great movie for some laughs.

Knocked up 7.6 - Not nearly as good as Super Bad. You can really relate to this movie if you a married now. It is a pretty fun movie but not that funny what so ever.

Audition - 9.2 - I absolute loved the story line and ending of the movie. It is a pretty twisted origional horror flick. I really enjoyed this movie...

Ringu (The Ring) (1998) 8.6 - This one *The origional ring* is 10 x better then the american remake. I wish I saw this one first.

Irreversible 9.4 - (would be alot higher if image quality was a little higher, used 16 and 35mm cameras)

They did a brilliant job in this movie. This movie goes backwords. By it going backwords and know what is going to happen and hurts to know more... and makes it even more intense.

You can't see Gaspar Noe's Irreversible without starting a heated discussion with someone else who saw it, or part of it. Many viewers walk out midway through, during the nine-minute scene in which Alex, played by the beautiful Monica Bellucci, is beaten and anally raped in the lurid red light of a Paris underpass as Noe stations his camera and watches.

This scene will make you feel like you are there and unable to do anything. Really hits home. Sad and disgusting but absolute brialliant work.

It would be easy and convenient to dismiss Irreversible as blatant sensationalism. But Noe's bruising film is way too artfully crafted to write off as exploitation. To see it is to absorb it, even against your will. Noe, the acclaimed French director of Carne and I Stand Alone, tells his story backward, as in Memento, but offers nothing as comforting as amnesia.

Irreversible opens with the credits running backward. A strange man (Philippe Nahon) states, "Time destroys everything." We are then thrust into a scene of revenge. Alex's lover, Marcus (Vincent Cassel), and her ex-boyfriend Pierre (Albert Dupontel) enter a gay S&M club looking for the rapist ... will not get into what exactly happens...

You have to tollerate the nudity... It had to be done like this for Noe to get his point across as what people went through, realistic, and brings out all feelings of emotions.

The third part will ease up...

Noe's considerable accomplishment is to examine the relationship between life and art, time and memory. Irreversible means to knock you for a loop. It does.

    This is truley a masterpiece.

Marebito (2005) 8.7 - great horror flick and went with a great / different direction w/this movie.

It is a about A fear-obsessed freelance cameraman (Shinya Tsukamoto) investigates an urban legend involving mysterious spirits that haunt the subways of Tokyo.

I think this upcoming direction (Takashi Shimizu) might do some great things down the road.

This movie has sub titles but very easy to follow along with the movie for people that have a difficult time staying focused w/ sub titles.

House of 1000 corpses 3.9 - boring boring film... should have went with a different approach with this. This is a B movie so you cant ask to much from Rob zombie on the budjet you probably had... Devils Regects is FAR better! I like his progress from this to devils rejects and was pretty excited about the re-make of halloween. I am normally very skepticle of remakes off of great origional movies... Hence Pysco which should have never been remade. I keep hearing that it is not that great and again should have not made a re-make.

Perfume 9.4 - great movie, great acting, great story line, and costumes match perfectly with that era of france. I really enjoyed this movie through out and ending has some great symbolic messages. This was a great thought out movie that is totally unique. Loved this film.

The Number 23 8.3 - I enjoyed this film. Not bad but not great. Maybe Jim Careys best performance.

(Documentary) The Bridge 9.4 - This was one of the best documentaries I have seen in a while. This is a IFC film. It is about the suicides off Golden gate bridge. The producer / film maker moved from New York to San Francisco for a entire year and filmed the bridge and interviewed the family of the people that jumped from the bridge.

It was filmed in the year 2004. There was a total of 24 people that killed them selves. It shows you how much contiplation and thought is involved in this. You feel like your right there with those people. Very very well done film.

Premonition 8.3 - I liked this movie and thought sandra ballock did fantastic acting as usual. Direction and writing was not the greatest and could have gone with a little better approach. I thought it was just to predictable

Dead Silence 4.3 - I predicted the end when I saw that lady behind his dad for the first time. Thought was bad acting, bad writing, to predictable and the direction was horrible. I had a tough time paying attention to the whole movies. But man those dolls are creepy. They did a good job with the old lady married to the mortuary guy.

The Host 7.3 (w/out subtitles and in english) 8.1 (w/sub titles in korean) - I enjoyed this film and it is about time korea goes out with a bang. I was very pleased with the special effects and the added humor.

Shooter 8.3 - very fun and cool movie. I love sniper rifles and is by far my favorite guns.

Breach 9.1 - Absolute great overall movie. Acticing direction and story line were terrific with this film.

8mm 8.2 - Saw this movie again... I like this movie but do not care for the ending to well. Not suitable for all groups... Nicholas cage did great in this.... EVEN TONY SAPRANO!

Boogie Nights 8.5 - A must see, If Mark Walberg did not do this movie he might not be where he is now in the movie industry

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994) 6.3 - I would not recomend this movie and the whole movie is full of flaws

The Messengers 5.6 - Absolute horrible movie. The whole movie is predictable. Horible acting. Very awful writing and storyline. Even though it is funny how corny it is though..

Transformers 8.3 - Mainly higher because of the special effects and graffics. This movie has poor acting but is made out to target a very young addience and have humor... so that covers up a lot of the poor quality acting in this movie. The last fight seen dragged on. They should of had this shorter. Story line was just, ok. I am not sure if I like how they apdated to the modern area with the bots but not rating off of that. I think on a movie stand point it was a GREAT idea to do that. It was a fun movie all around probably will not see it again. My nephews ages 6 and 9 fell alseep just the second time watching...

Live free or Die Hard 9.2 - This was a terrific "Action" movie. Keeps you entertained and on the edge of your seet watching from start to finish. This is what "Action" movies need to be like. So far all of the Die hards have been excellent.

Glengarry Glen Ross (1992) 9.5 - One of the best "sales" movies EVER! Great cast, Great Acting, Great Direction... You name it. I even have a screen play for this and have it at my desk at work! Al Pacino SHOULD HAVE WON A OSCAR - Period, Jack Lemmon Alec Baldwin (his 5 minutes of dialogue.. is his best work ever), Ed Harris, Alan Arkin, Kevin Spacey, Jonathan Pryce, and Bruce Altman.

The Last King of Scotland 8.7 - Forest Witaker makes this movie, even though has a great cast. I would recomend this and the acting was terrific.

Spiderman 3 8.4 - I saw this with my nephews. We watched it on the I-Max. I liked this movie. I thought it was the best of the spiderman movies. It follows the comic really well. I loooooooooooooved the dark spiderman. I was getting all into the movie. I do not know if it was really good because I saw it on the I-max though. Normally it makes a movie that much better. This movie has been getting horrible reviews and seems you either love it or hate it. If you understand the story line from the comics you will love it and think the direction is very good. If you do not underrstand the comics you might think the direction is bad.

Schindler's list 9.7 - GREAT MOVIE! / Best Genocide related movie of all time (Period)

Cindarella Man 9.3 - This movie is very very well done. Russel Crowe was awesome. Supporting class were absolutly great. The way Ron Howard depicted life during the Great Depression was well done. Feals like you were there at times. Highly recommended.

28 weeks later 8.1 - It was a pretty fun movie. Did not like a couple of ideas that made the movie corny (like the dad as a zombie) and obvious. The sniper seen when they were on the roof was awsome. If you like zombie flicks like me you will like this movie. I was never board so it was worth watching. If they deleted some of the real cheesy parts out... this would have been a 8.8 easy.

28 Days Later 8.1 - Both of these movies are awsome if you like zombie flicks.

Goodfellas 9.5 - Great all around movie. One of the best mafia movies. Tommy DeVito: You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little ****ed up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to ****in' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?

Casino 9.7 - My favorite of the Mafia movies.

Godfather 9.4 - I used to have this rated as "the" best of the Mafia movies but I really like Goodfellas and Casino overall a little better.

      Leon (The Profesional - UK) 9.4 -

      Psycho (1960) 9.3 -

      Psycho (Re-Make) 5.3 -

Night of the Living Dead (1968) 8.1 -

Night of the Living Dead (Re-Make) 8.8 -

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1973) 8.9 -

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (Re-Make) 7.9 -

      Halloween (1978) 8.5 -

      Silence of the Lambs (1991) 8.9 -

Apocalypto 8.9 - I loved this movie and a big fan of Mel Gibson's movies that he produces or directs. It is not as grusome as people make it out to be. He could have made it ALOT more detailed how the Mayan's were with some of the bodys and kids from other tribes. Great piece of work and would recomend any that has not seen this movie to rent this but just don't have your kids in the room. Only down fall on this movie and why it does not get a ten... is direction and sotry line of movie and they had time periods in movie off at time with 9th century, 11th century and 16th century.

Flags Of Our Fathers 5.9 - Expected more from Mr. Eastwood.

Letters of Iwoh Jima 8.4 - Far better then Flags of our fathers which is Japan's perspective.

The Dead Girl 8.5 - Trailer Very dark and disturbing. With 4-5 stories from different people that had some kind of interaction with the dead girl. Very good acting and probably would not get great reviews becuase of the dark atmosphere in the movie. I thought this was a very well done movie.

Happy Feet 9.2 - Great picture. Rated a little higher because it is my daughters favorite movie so thus being mine. What is funny is that they have a lot of "adult" contant in the movie

      Forrest Gump 9.8 -

      Casablanca 9.5 -

Brians song (re-make) 9.5 - I loved the re-make a lot better then the origional. Very emotional and gets to me every time.

      Field of Dreams 9.1 -

      Pan's Labyrinth 9.3 -

      Pulp Fiction 9.6 -

      Braveheart 9.3 -

      American History X 9.2 -

      Full Metal Jacket 9.2 -

      IT 9.7 -

      The Shining 9.6 -

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 9.3 -

Amazing Grace 7.2 - I see all these decent reviews of this movie from every one. It seems like they are compelled to vote high on this movie because it has to do with slavery. I do like how it focuses towards the courts and how it actually was historically in the movie and very accurately if I might add. BUT this is was a very very boring movie. I mean I could not stand sitting through that entire movie. The best things about this movie is costume design and acting.

        The Return 6.7 -

        The Prestige 7.4 -

        The Guardian 7.6 -

        The departed 9 -

        Gridiron Gang 6.4 -

        Flyboys 6.2 -

Sleepers 9.5 - Trailer all around GREAT movie and would also recomend this movie. Great cast with Kevin Bacon, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman and Jason Patric. It is about four boys growing up in Hell's Kitchen play a prank that leads to an old man getting hurt. Sentenced to no less than one year in the Wilkenson Center in upstate New York, the four friends are changed by the beating, humiliation and sexual abuse by the guards sworn to protect them. Thirteen years later and a chance meeting lead to a chance for revenge against the Wilkenson Center and the guards.

        Talladega Nights 2.8 -

Grudge2 3.6 - This was an awfull movie and felt like writing the producers that they need to give anyone who saw this movie there money back. The did a decent job on re-making the first. Down the line no good things to say about this movie but the part when girl throws up into the jug and drinks it over again... That was crazy sick! Story line awfull, acting awful, special effects awfull... just the entire movie.

Murder in the First 9.4 - I rented this movie because my wife had not seen it. Kevin Bacon and Christian Slater (his best performance in a movie if I might add). Kevin Bacon should have won award in this film. If you have not seen this I highly recemend this movie.

The plot is based on a true story which apparently led to closing down of the Alcatraz. Henri Young (Bacon) is charged with committing a federal crime when he steals $5 to feed his younger sister from a store which doubled for a post office. In the typical absolute vein of the current legal system, he is sentenced to serve time in prison.

The Alcatraz prison, which was conceived to hold people like Al Capone and George "Machine Gun" Kelly, also held prisoners who were convicted of lesser crimes, like the one committed by Young above, in order to justify its existence. In fact, a vast majority of the 1545 inmates in the prison "were not to be found on wanted posters adorning post office walls." It is said that spending time in its solitary confines has driven dozens of people insane.

Young, who spends time in the solitary confines after an escape attempt, kills another inmate who traded security in exchange for testifying against Young. James Stamphill (Slater) is given his first case: to defend Young on a murder charge. When everyone expects Young to be sent to the gas chamber for his crime, Stamphill puts the Alcatraz prison and its Wardens on trial.

The performances are all superb. Christian Slater plays the role of the freshman lawyer well, and Kevin Bacon's portrayal of a prisoner on the verge of insanity is brilliantly convincing. Milton Glenn (Gary Oldman) is ruthless and cruel as Alcatraz's Associate Warden. There is enough drama in the movie to keep the audience from getting bored, even though there is little action. I think a bit more time could've been spent exploring how the post-Depression post-Prohibition era mentality among the American people allowed such an institution to exist.

Mystic River 8.7 - I thought this movie was very very well done. The acting alone makes this movie. It has a great cast of actors and probably would not be that great of a movie with out Penn and Tim Robbins.

SherryBaby 8.2 - This is about a women that gets out of prison from stealing for drugs and had a bad drug addiction. The story line is very good and really gets deep how it is for a lot of these individuals. The girl actress did an absolute wonderful job. She has a 6 yr daughter whom she was never a part of her life and stay with brother and wife and really do not want her apart of her life right away.

I would say more but in the middle of the movie it shows a glimpse why she went the route she did and not her brother, which is very depressing (not cry depression but realism). They did a great job not getting away from the plot with that.

Onibus 174 (Bus 174) 9.2 - is a Brazilian documentary film released on October 22, 2002. It is the debut film of director Jose Padilha and co-director Felipe Lacerda. The film's subject is the June 12, 2000 bus hijacking that occurred in Rio de Janeiro. Sandro do Nascimento, a young man from a poor background, bungled a robbery and ended up holding the passengers on a bus hostage for four hours. The event was caught live on television. The movie examines the incident and what life is like in the slums and favelas of Rio de Janeiro and how the criminal justice system in Brazil treats the lower classes. It has a 100% critics' rating at RottenTomatoes.com

It has a 100% critics' rating at RottenTomatoes.com

10th and Wolf 8.8 - Pretty good mobster movie. Based on the true-life accounts of FBI Special Agent Joseph D. Pistone, otherwise known as "Donnie Brasco," the story of Marine Sgt. Tommy Santoro, who in 1991, thought he had left behind his family's ties to organized crime. Returning home to South Philly, he faces the biggest moral dilemma of his life as he reconnects with his brother, Vincent, and cousin Joey, who both have become something he vowed never to be--mobsters. His homecoming turns him into something much worse. James Marsden, Giovanni Ribisi, Brad Renfro, Piper perabo, Dennis Hopper, Brian Dennehy, Dash Mihok, and val kilmer.

          25th hour 8.5 - w/Edward Norton and a spike lee film.

The Illusionist 8.5 - great acting from Edward Norton as usual but maybe Paul Giamatti's best performance. Direction and story line was very good.

The Decent 7.9- I liked it as a one watch film that will make you jump in the theater.

V for Vendetta 8 - Was an entertaining movie.

The Woodsman 2.1 - One of the worst movie I have seen. I seen some poor quality movies with acting and plot. It is about a guy (kevin beacon) and he is like a sex offender. I got this movie with out reading the back when was a new release. Movie does not go anywhere and is strictly about a petofile. Dumb movie.

Pirates of the Caribean 2 4.7 - Awful movie just drug on and on. Very boring. Half way through I thought about leaving. I am supprised because so many good reviews. Maybe if you are 13 and like corny action with a couple funny parts... but they tried to hard with everything with movie. Also very bad acting except for Johnie Dep

Superman Returns 8.4 - I think it was a very well acted and done movie. With consistancy, it was not the approach they were going after. They were going more with the rolling hill theory in films. To bring back a great series of movies like this and to build up for sequals to come it was well done. Kevin spacey was a great actor like always. I saw this in 3D on I max and looked great. If you are looking for a constant action film this is not it. If you are looking for an intense, sespense as well as emotional film this is it. One more thing For a 1st movie (bringing the film back) They have to in a way explain everything for the next generation of people that have not seen the older superman films

          Titanic 9.5 -

Kiss kiss bang bang 7.5 - It was pretty funny and the russian rollete sceene was great.

          Swimming pool 8.7 -

          Bram Strokers Dracula 6.7 -

          Manhunter (1986) 8.2 -

          Manhunter's re-make 7.1 -

Parents (1989) 7.2 - I enjoyed this movie when I was little. Plus it is about canibalism!

Death Proof 8.4 - Quinton Tarantinois the Man!!!!!

          Donnie Darko 8.1 -

          The Shining (1980) 9.5 -

          The Shining re-make 7.4 -

          Carrie (1976) 8.9 -

          Misery 8.6 -

3 Extremes 7.8 - should of had 2 extremes and named it 2 twisted tales. I have to say I do like his work though.

Cabin Fever 6.5 - Boring movie

The Reaping 6.3 - I found this film to be very boring and as if they tried to hard to make it thrilling. It's no masterpiece. That's a given. Despite some really awful CG special effects and plot devices; I found the Reaping to be an OK way to spend an hour and a half... It is a watchable movie and will have you entertained in some parts... and not because of Hillary swank... only because of the story line. The ending was awfull and feel like they gave up on the movie. There was a couple decent twists and turns here and there... I just can't believe they are going to make a sequal.

The Lives of others (2006) (Also Known as Leben der Anderen, Das) 9.6 - This is an outstanding movie. It's one of the best I have seen in recent years. The Oscar it earned for Best Foreign Film was well deserved. To be honest with you it should have won Best Film in general, because it was a far better movie than The Departed. The first 90 minutes are slow at times, but stay engrossed because the last 15 minutes of this movie are incredibly powerful and riveting. Even though what they do this first 90 minutes makes you fill like you are there.

The director takes some big chances down the stretch and they all pay off. Beyond the ending, there are so many interesting little wrinkles to the movie. It doesn't take any bad steps. When the wall comes down it doesn't treat it as a liberation of the key players in the film. Their reactions are much more sophisticated and realistic than you could ever imagine.

Just a marvelous piece of work.

The Devil's Backbone (2001) (Also know as El Espinazo del Diablo) 9.1 - Guillermo del Toro Director is awsome! You might know him from Pan's Labyrinth (2006), and Hell Boy. He is coming out with Hell Boy 2 and The Orphanage (2008) which looks like it is going to be fantastic. Out of the brilliant mind of Guillermo Del Toro comes a movie that will take you on a dark tour through war, isolation, and fear of the supernatural. The story takes place in an orphanage.

The movie starts out with a simple story of a boy named Carlos Tielve) that has been left there by his tutor(Who looks a lot like American actor Tom Sizemore)and must live with the bully, Jaime (played by a gifted young actor named Inigo Garces)and his followers, which are basically all of them. Carlos, who is curious like a cat finds out soon that there is someone else living with them in the orphanage; a ghost that has been hunting the school from the time a bomb fell in their yard and didn't detonate. Nevertheless, a rumour that a boy named Santi had runaway the day of the bomb will be disproven. Then you mind wonders with questions.

The movie becomes a great film at about half way through it when you get to know Casares and Carmen platonic couple. You get to know of why Jacinto is there and why Casares feels meek, both of which a portrayed by two great actors Federico Luppi and Marisa Paredes. Not to mention the Ghost's warning "Many will Die." The movie is a phenominal film that has the feel of old horror movies and dramas. The ending will leave you shocked and might affect you for a long time. A great movie to watch on a Saturday night will that will leave you wanting for more.

            The Phone 7.3 -

Fantastic four 2 6.1 - Just stop making these movies!!!!

The Breed 8.1 - Made me jump alot. I liked this movie alot for its entertainment factor. Other then that it has those parts... why are you doing that, dont do that, dont go in there etc., I did not care for the ending. I like Wes Cravens movies.

Reign over me 8.3 - Maybe adam sandlers best jump but Cheadel made this film good.

Wrong Turn 2 5.4 - Awfull... even gore factor was awfull

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon 7.6 - pretty humerous and if you like horror movies you will laugh.

1408 9.2 - I am suprised this movie got a bunch of bad reviews... I liked everything about this movie. From the direction, acting, picture, story line, and even keep samuel L Jackson's role limited. This book must have been terrific. This movie is not ranked as his best (Stephen Kings) but is up there.

Buried Alive (1990) 8.8 - I loved this film and must have seen this about ten times now on USA. Great revenge movie. Love the plot.

Buried Alive 2 (1997) 7.6 - This movie is also pretty good. I'm a big Tim Matheson fan. To get the full impact of this movie, you should see the first one "Buried Alive" with Tim Matheson and Jennifer Jason Leigh. The sequel "Buried Alive II" is about a man who poisons his wife (blow fish... which could in fact do what it does in the movie) to get her inheritance so he can buy a yacht and continue his affair with his mistress.

Problem is, once she is dead, he wants a quicky funeral and wants her embalmed twice. As in the first movie, where the wife poisons husband Clint Goodman (Tim Matheson) and he is dead, (so everyone thinks) everything goes wrong at the funeral home.

The embalming machine goes berserk and there is no embalming done at all. This is when the movies get really good. Both of them actually. To see what the so called dead spouses do to get revenge on the spouse who poisoned them, but did not actually kill them keeps you on your toes and keeps you in suspense until the very end.

The spouse thought to be dead is actually still alive, but the poison from the fish puts them in a kind of like catatonic state, where they appear dead. This is not a horror movie, but more of a suspense, thriller, drama movie.

In any event, if you watch one, you have to watch the other.

Mr. Brooks 9.3 - Kevin Costner, William Hurt, Dane Cook and Demi Moore did a absolute fantastic job in this film... specially Costner and Hurt.

I love the story line and thought this movie was great. Keeps you very entertained as you keep learning new things about Mr. Brooks untill the end. The people that are going to rate this movie as a very bad movie... is going to be people that dislike the "gore" type of movies. A lot of people will also think alot of things crammed into a movie... I have heard many reasons why people do not like this movie... mostly how dark this movie is.

People tend to be turned away from rating a "Dark" movie... like this one. Good.

As if people think if they rate it good... they support it.

This movie is about Mr. Brooks and you are able to see all of these different things about mr. brooks as if they are placing a peice of the puzzle untill it is complete based on who mr. brooks is.

Kevin Costner gives his best performance ever as this psychotic character, his moods range from vulnerable to sadistic. Costner has never shown so much range in any role previous to this.

William Hurt absolutely steals every scene he's in (as usual) as the imaginary Marshall, who is a manifested representation of Brooks' Id. Marshall seeks pleasure and release in killing, and constantly persuades Brooks to do the same. Marshall is also Brooks' survival instinct, and this becomes more prevalent later in the film.

The last 5 minutes of the film will leave you breathless, and those final, haunting scenes will make the entire film draw to a very harrowing close.

I recommend this to anyone who seeks a film that's much smarter than the mindless blockbusters in theaters now.

Also to anyone who likes films such as 'Silence of the Lambs' and 'American Psycho'. Mr. Brooks is not as charming as Patrick Bateman or as lethal as Hannibal Lecter, but he's something far worse; he's relatable.

Delicatessen (1991) 9 - This movie was GREAT. Had a lot of phone watching this. The direction. Acting. Humor. Story line. And visualy with camera angles and sound was a work of masterpeice.

Severance (2006) (UK - English) 8.1 - This movie was very entertaining and had a tough time putting a rating on this. I enjoyed this flick. Thought it was also pretty humerous in many parts.

Slither 7.6 - If it was not for the special effects and how well they did this visualy this would be a lot better rating. Acting was plain horrific. Story line also pretty bad.

The Abandoned 8.8 - Great story line, one of the better after dark films I have seen in a while.

Hostel 2 7.5 - Most horror sequels are entertaining but completely unnecessary. Hostel 2 justifies it's existence by elaborating on things fans were curious about and creating a very different tone while keeping the flavor of the original.

The movie certainly contains horror but it is in the form of individual scenes and there is even an overall sense of doom that hovers over the eventual victims that the first movie never had in it's first act. Even still, the movie is largely a dark comedy; very aware of it's own ability to create uncomfortable laughter. In my opinion, Hostel 2 is a fun movie that delivers the goods and never feels like a rehash. That's all anyone can ask of a sequel.

One last bit on it's running time. While every summer blockbuster tries to come in at about 155 min. Hostel 2 comes in at a shade over 90. It's refreshing leaving a movie wanting more rather than thanking Christ the movie is finally over.

One thing I really liked about this film it shows both sides of the ball. It shows how "normal" people go to these places to torture / Kill people.

I am a not a big fan of Roth and wish he went a different direction still with Cabin fever.

Carrie (1976) 9.3 - I still like the origional Shinning and IT better so has a little lower grade then those other Stephen King movies. The acting, the direction, the script...this film got it all right. Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie, after about 13-16 years absence from films, were both nominated for Academy Awards... practically unheard of for a horror film. The entire cast is top notch (even John Travolta is in it... but a small role) but it is the true creepiness of Carrie that seeps through time and time again.

Lest we not forget Brian DePalma's direction...flawless!! And the music to the film is integrated so well. There is not one thing "wrong" with this horror film.

Some people will dislike the ending, while others will think it was superb and very very origional.

Best line..."I can see your dirtypillows."

              Movies Previously rated (cont.)

Isolation - Alot of Horror buffs might like this film. The original name of the film is called The Calf. Not going to officialy grade untill I see the rest. This 2005 Irish Horror film is written and directed by a "Billy O'Brien". Very slow-paced film that doesn't feature many spectacular moments, but it's nevertheless a bit creepy and compelling enough to hold your attention. Especially the first 45 minutes or so are mysteriously build up. The Plot Outline: On a remote Irish farm, five people become unwilling participants in an experiment that goes nightmarishly wrong.

Well there is nothing wrong with a good monster/Alien film once and awhile. Unfortunately this is not one of them. It is likely the first film ever that can make the claim to showing not once, not twice, but three times in the first fifteen minutes a cow having a hand being put up its butt. I ended up falling asleep... My wife said I did not miss to much.

To be fair to the director Billy O'Brien, (who also wrote this piece of art) the opening is moody at times. You are trying to figure out what the heck is going on. The set-up takes forever to get going, and the yet the ending seems rushed(Via Wife).

Rinne (Reincarnated) 7.9 - Japanese director Takashi Shimizu has done it again with his newest horror film Rinne or Reincarnation in English. Rinne is told through the eye's of a young and up coming Japanese actress name Sugiura. She is chosen to play the lead role in a horror film that is re-telling the story of a mass murder that took place in a hotel some many years prior.

As the film shoot begins, Sugiura begins to see actual events from the murder in her head. She soon looses track of what is real and what is solely an image in her head. The movie that is being made within the film is re-telling the story of a professor who goes on a killing spree in a hotel. he ends up killing both his children, much of the hotel staff and in the end, he takes his own life. the only survivor is his wife.

The reason for the killings is to prove his theory that the bodies sole lives on after the body has been killed. An interesting Idea that the film actually does a really good job of showing. If you liked the grudge and don't mind reading sub-titles go see Reincarnation.

Eragon 3.4 - This movie was on TV, absolutly horrible in every area. I was noit very disappointed with the movie Eragon because I was not expecting more and did not expect to get anything in return. The acting was rather horrible. The script felt like it was written by a five year old with no sense of wonder at all and while the special effects were great for the dragon, it was not very good any where else. I also have not read the books on which this film is based on but judging on how bad this film was, I'm not going to waste my time.

The Invisible 4.1 - ******MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS****** This is a bad movie. The soundtrack is awfull. The movie is extremely cheesy, and not in a good way. The characters are unoriginal: the "perfect" high school guy who hates his life; the misunderstood bad girl; the backstabbing best friend; the uncaring girlfriend; the overprotective mother. Very predictable... because there is no thinking or mystery involved...

The bad girl "kills" him and he and the audience know it, and in the end she must redeem herself by saving his life (BORING!). He in turn ends up falling for her of course. If you're a 13 year old girl you'll probably love it.

Also no one can hear this kid even her... all of sudden she can now. I hated this movie... and can't believe I wasted my time with this.

The Tomb 3.1 - I'm guessing I'm one of the very few people who actually took the time to watch this whole movie (Fast forwarded mostly) REAL BAD MISTAKE! After watching over 60-minutes of this movie, I began asking 'What was this about again?'..Now, that says something. There was no story, it had no meaning to it and no point. Bad acting. Was the casting director serious when they hired these people. Alot of the characters died off and I had no remorse for them. Every character never had an adequate story built up for them, so there was obviously no sympathy. All I've got to mention is that there was a guy fake jogging in the movie... and please do not get me started about the objects located around the movie. This movie was horrible.

I'm Not Scared (2004) 8.7 - Photography, Plot, Acting, and Originality is almost flawless in this movie. It is Italian with subtitles. I am sooo suprised how well these kids did in this movie as far as acting goes.

The director does a great job of seeing the world through the eyes of the 10 year old lead character who finds similarities between his own peers and those of his parents. He's forced to choose between loyalty and what he feels in his heart to be correct.

Hollywood could learn much from this film. It doesn't take multimillion dollar special effects to make a great film...just a good story...the right actors...and a director with a vision.

Howling 8.4 - I like the howling movie and saw the movie my first time on USA. The Howling is a good werewolf film with some incredible special effects (realizing it is around 26 years old). I liked the setting and the story itself, but the acting could've been better. I think the movie failed to do this because the actors and actresses weren't given much to work with. I also believe the first half of the movie could've had better pacing because it tends to crawl towards the second half.

The last half of this film however is a real delight to watch with all the transformations and surprises, and though the ending is not a let down, it could've been better. I won't say why because I don't want to give the ending away to those who haven't seen it yet. There aren't many good werewolf films out there, but overall The Howling gets my vote as a nice horror film to watch at night with all the lights off and your sweetheart by your side.

And the werewolf love scene is one of the most memorable moments in the werewolf movie history.

Unrest 7.2 - Few horror movie settings have been more underused or made poor use of as medical school/ dissections/ autopsies. The best one is perhaps Anatomie (Anatomy) from Germany. A lot has been made about the possible use of real cadavers for this film and after seeing it, I'm not sure that is the case (I can explain this in detail if needed). The story itself is OK, but it could be better. Also typical for American films, the filmmakers did a lousy job researching some of the themes used in the movie. For some reason to explain the whole ghost aspect, they introduced an Aztec fertility goddess to sort of connect the thing with the corpse from Brazil. However, the Aztecs where never in Brazil but in Mexico. This movie is watchable but not scary.

Bee Movie 6.7 - The looks of the movie was good. The story line... specially for kids was horrible. It was boring for all ages. Has some funny parts. I think they tried to hard to gear towards adults. This whole movie was a complete mess. I never heard so many kids talking at the movie theater from being bored. The jokes were to far and between from eachother with most not being funny. Again just a very very "Boring" movie for me and my family... and by the sounds... 90 percent of the theater

                Honorable Mentions

Sorry if I have dates wrong... but what directer came out with a selection like that in that time period (1954-1963)!

                Rear window

                Vertigo

                North by Northwest

Psycho (1960) They should have never remade Psycho in my eyes and hope they will also leave this film alone. It is a disgrace to do that to a masterpeice.

                The Birds

                mockingbird
