Okay, if you're a fogey like me, you might have trouble finding new stuff to listen to.

I'm not in school (of any kind) any more, and I don't particularly like listening to the radio except when I'm in the shower. If I'm in my car, I've either got my iPod going or I'm listening to talk radio (mostly sports, but sometimes NPR).

That being said, my music collection tends to stagnate after a while, and that means I need to find something new to rock out to. If you're like me, you might have the same problem. Or hell, maybe you just want to spread the love and get some new music out to people.

So here's the idea: Someone posts a genre of music they like. If you know of a band or a singer that fits the bill, go and find a video on YouTube (or any other free site, for that matter) and post it in response. Tell us a bit about the act and why you like them, too.

And then, even if you don't need any help finding new music, post a genre of music you'd like help getting some new bands for. We'll keep it going that way.

I'll start: I've been interested in getting some hard rock/metal, but I'm not sure what I'd like these days. Lately, I've been getting into some Swedish melodic death metal bands (Soilwork, In Flames), but I'd like some other stuff to listen to as well.

Got any suggestions? I'm all ears.
    HEAR ME ROAR!

        Dry Kill Logic
Little known metal band I really like.
They opened for Machine Head a few years ago. I thought oh great another crappy opening act. They tore it up, I liked them better than Machine Head.

Also, that Hell Yeah! album rocks

That was kind of pseudo-goth or something. Not saying that's a bad thing, but I'd prefer something with a more industrial beat if we're going to go that route.

Here are a few songs that I've been rocking out to lately:

In Flames - Cloud Connected is sweet. This band has some of the coolest riffs. I'm not the biggest fan of their lead singer's vocals, but he's not bad, either.

Soilwork - Rejection Role is a pretty cool video. In Flames and Soilwork are buddies, and In Flames did a video shot at the same location called Trigger. I like Rejection Role better.

Of course, one of my favorite bands ever is Sevendust, and I recently found a live version of Black. This song is AWESOME. If you like metal at all, you should check them out. One of the best.

I like a lot of different types of music, and electronic is definitely one of those things. I love some, hate some. Chances are, if it falls under the category of "techno," I'll like it. But different people are different degrees of uppity about defining genres.

Suffice to say, I looked for the song you have listed on YouTube, and I couldn't find a video. So I can't listen to it unless I like, buy it, or something. And who would do that?

I could give you some crazy experimental electronic typed music if you are up for trying it out.

                            That's alright, man.

I know it makes dogfish cringe, but my favorite stuff is typically melodic trance. I love the Dutch masters, and after that I dig things like Prodigy and the Crystal Method. I've listened to noise before, and that's... not music, IMO.
