I though it was a good movie, a little long but a good movie.

I couldn't disagree with the opening poster more.

I have never been a big Batman fan.. and he's not my favorite at all (I was a marvel guy as a kid)... but ANYONE that is actually looking into the details that he pointed out as negatives on a movie based on a COMIC BOOK.... is being ridiculous.

The acting was superb. YOu will see the acting job of the year and winner of the academy award for Best Actor in the joker. Absolutely AMAZING job of acting by Heath Ledger on this. YOu don't even see "him" in the movie, and the small details he does with the character is phenomenal. I thought the hype over his acting job was overblown due to his death... but after seeing the movie I stand corrected. AMAZING.

The only negative thing would be the length of the movie.. a bit too long imo. But the movie was good. I think the opening poster just doesn't quite get it. The movie was very enjoyable and another great comic book movie for the year.

[QUOTE=Skywalker;2257965]I'd like to point out that he wasn't using the sonar thing to try and find him, the sonar thing just went haywire after all the dogs and The Joker beating up on him. Didn't you notice it blinking on and off alot?
          QUOTE]

The only reason for the sonar was to find him. He had all those tv hooked as well. My peeve was that once he found the joker, and the joker was on the same floor as him, some feet away mind you, he still had it on and tried to find him.

If it was me, I would have shut it off as soon as I was on the same floor. He would have been able to see better.

I understood the movie, I just thought it was corny.

              I know.

The sonar was shut off when he was by The Joker, and then went haywire and started turning off and on again after the Joker and the dogs started beating on him. That is exactly what I just said in my previous post.

Obviously someone needs to re-watch the movie and actually pay attention this time.

with any movie like this, you have to suspend your disbelief

                  spoliers ahead.............

in the real world, the batman isn't 100% moral, and would solve alot of gotham's problems by killing the joker while in custody, as would one of the officers whose friends he killed

quick simple, but leaves no plot devices for the rest of the movie

if you're looking for reality, best not to go see a movie based on a comic book

as for the end, maybe it's just me, but i just assumed the charges in the boats were wired to the detonators in their own boats lol

joker does like chaos , and he did lie to batman about harvey and rachel's locations sorta

why would he tell the truth about the ferrys?

                    (SPOILER)

Yeah, I was expecting someone to push the detonator and it'd totally blow up their own boat, it's something the Joker would do

Nah. The 1960's version was corny, this one just had some plot holes. I loved the movie, but I still wonder what happened to Bruce's guest at his penthouse after **SPOILER** he jumped out the window to save Rachel after the Joker "Let her go". After they fall on the car, it just cuts to the next scene. They should have at least shown the Joker and his crew leaving, or Batman coming back to find all the guests with appetizer toothpicks stuck in their eyes.

And not to pick on you Bouncer, but did you really not like the movie because of a few plot holes like sonar? I mean, did you not forget the first flaw in logic of a billionaire playboy dressing up like a bat to fight crime? Or the fact that Two Face probably would have died from an infection (or at least needed a ton of eye drops)? I mean really, if I was Batman, I would have just sprayed some peroxide on his ugly side and watched him scream in pain as he fizzed up.

But I shouldn't judge people for liking movies or not, thats their business. I'm one of the few of my friends that really liked Speed Racer and Indiana Jones.

Good point....although I felt for a superhero movie it was pretty believable. That is one of my favorite things about batman, he doesn't have an superpowers!

Im not much of a comic book or comic book movie fan, but I decided to watch Batman Begins again then go see The Dark Knight, and I thought it was one of the best movies ive ever seen. I understood every bit of it, so if you didnt understand it then thats your problem.

                            well...

it really is a wee bit too late for me to bury this guy in why his "peeves" are not contextually sound....or uh........correct.

                            heh.

but i will say that all this hype about Ledger getting an Oscar nod is getting ridiculous.

maybe if he was still alive...but the Acadamy just has a hard time with it...sure they've nominated posthumously in the past, but the other factor is that the Acadamy doesn't really recognize "action" or "super-hero" movies that often. and when they do it's hardly ever for acting.

i think people are just so caught up that he's passed, that they think they've seen the greatest performance of all time...but i didn't see Daniel Day Lewis anywhere.

I thought about that originally too but I dont think that wouldve been the case. I think the Joker was doing a little...um..."social experiment". Im pretty sure that he was trying to prove that when pushed to a certain limit or point that anyone can change. Anyone can break away from who they are and become someone else. Like he did with Dent. Harvey was pushed so far that he went from being Gotham's "White Knight", to killing people as Two Face.

I thought it was just the opposite.

The hype this movie was getting was ridiculous to me. The hype Ledger was getting, was only because he died. He isn't that great of a character transition actor.

Batman Begins wasn't "corny" at all. It was actually a fairly "Dark" movie. This movie was so much more Darker and Gloomier than the first one.

I was finally coaxed into seeing this garbagely hyped film. I was stunned by how amazing it was done, and even moreso, how amazing the actors did with their characters.

The movie storyline itself was brilliant. Some stories within the stories were rushed together, but everything came together so well.

Heath Ledger was absolutely brilliant in the film. I couldn't have been any more wrong about him. He turned the Joker into arguably the greatest movie villain of all time. Absolutely blew Jack Nicholson's performance out of the water.

I can understand people not liking the movie for preferential difference, but "corny"? I'm not seeing that at all.
