HOPING TO SEE MORE OF THIS IN 2012

ESPN’s John Clayton reported that McKenzie is expected to review Jackson’s performance for the next week or so. Clayton reports that the odds favor Jackson staying in Oakland, but a decision has not been made. "I still get the feeling Jackson will end up being retained." 3 1/2 HOURS LATER, THE RAIDERS FIRED JACKSON.....GOOD CALL CLAYTON

I hope they don't include Catwoman in this movie, she doesn't feel like she'd fit into the new world they made.

The Penquin, maybe, if they do him right. Not like the stupid version in the old ones.

I'd rather see The Riddler as the villian instead, as a seriel killer or something, with a cameo by The Joker. Maybe even find someway to bring Two-Face back from the dead.

I think the Catwoman character probably died when they decided to devote a single film for her...I agree that the only main villians that really make sense with the current Batman world are Joker, Riddler, and Two-Face. Personally, I feel like the first film didn't get as rave reviews because the Scarecrow was such a reach, and really was a weak villian. I don't know if they could make the Penguin into a realistic villian...

Man, they've been talking about Jolie for weeks. It more than likely won't happen. I don't think Nolan and Co. are too keen on Catwoman.

I had a site in my other two giant posts in "TDK....I didn't Like It" about how Goyer said the rumors about Jolie and Hoffman (that'd be Phillip Seymour, not Dustin[who was one of the many considerations for Harvey Dent]) were simply untrue stating: "I strongly disagree..."

I would also like to see The Riddler (which actually might be a very big possibility) and The Penguin (probably slim to none).

Nolan said early on that there is no room for The Penguin in his universe. He's too far-fetched. But I think that if they did him correctly, and just portrayed him as he really is in the comics, a short, fat mob boss/arms dealer... then he'd fit the Nolanverse perfectly.

also, Two-Face is the main villain of the third film. so he is coming back already. it's just a matter of who to pair him with. which makes Riddler all the more likely since for some reason they always wored together in the comics.

But Nolan, Goyer and Co. also hinted that they wanted to delve into some of the villians that've never been onscreen before.

I don't think Scarecrow was a reach. He's probably one of the most realistic villains. He's like most of them, crazy, disillusioned and uses his special chemistry concoction to strike fear into people...but he's always been a weak villain, not just in the film. He's just not that challenging for Batman...which I think they really nailed in the film, because Batman was able to bring him down with ease...unlike The Joker. The great thing about The Riddler is that he matches Bruce's intellect (much like The Joker), and with Two-Face, he rivals Batman's detective abilities.

I hate all the talk about people wanting Killer Croc and such. Leave him the hell out of this. We don't want to turn this into Spiderman.

MAYBE ....just maybe Baine could work. He's the only one that matches Batman's strength, or surpasses it actually as he's the one that shattered Bruce's back.

          But as someone

Yeah...I suppose my comment should have just basically stated "I hate the Scarecrow." They did do well with him, its just that he's always felt a bit out of place in the Batman universe in general IMO. If it were realistic enough I'd like to see Dr. Freeze in there, but I just don't know how that would work.

Yeah...he's not one of my favorites either. He's just annoying. At least Cillian portrayed that well. I loved how weak his attempt at being a drug dealer and such was in TDK... like his career as a super-villain didn't pan out and he was now flipping burgers. hahahaha.

also i've never understood Dr. Strange's deal. He's pretty weak too.

I would be interested in seeing Deadshot take a role in the third.

I even thought it could be plausible. I mean, with Batman: Gotham Knight, he was in one of the 8 stories. And Gotham Knight kind of plays around losely with being tied to the two films.

I just hope that doesn't mean they really are considering Killer Croc.

              but...

Batman is now a fugitive, and a multiple homicide suspect, running from the law as the end of TDK points out.

What if Deadshot is hired by the mob this time (along with Joker) to just take Batman out of the loop. Or maybe he's tied to Gotham's SWAT team or something...(we know how corrupt the GPD is...

I just think Nolan could really make Deadshot cool...and honestly I've never really thought about him as that interesting before i watched B:GK.

I need to watch that, I've walked by it a couple of times but just never really gave it a full thought at the time. Deadshot would be cool...I can't say I remember Killer Croc, but it sounds like it'd be similar to Lizardman from Spiderman...

I think Deadshot would be good as a mob hitman, but I couldn't see the mob re-hiring the Joker...especially how he talked to them while burning the pyramid of money. I wonder if it could be better if he tried to continue to screw with Batman's logic on humanity and end up creating The Riddler. Idk, but its fun to speculate all the different directions the third movie can go...

no kidding. it's a sea of possibilities. as Nolan and Goyer said, there's 70 years of material and characters to choose from.

That'd be interesting. in the Nolanverse, The Joker essentially creates Two-Face (instead of Coleman Reese doing the job for Maroni). Maybe The Joker just keeps taking good men, civilized and ordered men and turning them on themselves and everyone else. Edward Nygma was a pretty straight up intelligent guy with that hint of geek-boy, nerdishness to him... Enter Joker (especially if they play it like it the way it goes and have Wayne fire him for something) convincing Nygma to take action and continue introducing Anarchy...

that could even bring danger to Bruce himself finally and not just Batman... if the now created Riddler is targetting Wayne as revenge for firing him... hmmm... then you've got Dead-shot working for the mob trying to take out Batman...with The Joker running around bringing on No Man's Land and a complete Marshal Law cut-off of Gotham's borders.

                  EPIC! hahahahahahaha.

Oh man...that would be incredibly crazy! I wonder what Batman would do with millions of civilians losing their sanity all around him! They wouldn't possibly want to make a fourth film...would they? I kind of like this concept of an insane over-run city, except it would take an entire film to get it straightened out again...but then Batman would need help, and other than somehow bringing Robin in I couldn't see him teaming up with a bunch of people...and they already did sort of do the city-overrun thing in the first one, although it was a small portion of the city with convicts swarming around. I think I just dissapointed myself...

Real and TD, all your speculations for the next movie sound awesome, just want to tell you guys that. You'll both be getting CP's.

Anyway, I'm kind of hoping they don't put Robin in these movies. Or if they do, they'll just have to do it exactly right (which I trust Nolan and Company to do 100%).

man, now i'm gettin myself all hyped up. it took so much effort to make it the three years until this point of being able to see TDK come to fruition and then just explode.

i kind of had a hint of the No Man's Land idea when The Narrows errupted in panic back in B.B. Then with TDK they brought in the National Guard and attempted to evacuate the city...

I know Nolan and Co. are using specific comic arcs to base their story on. In Begins it was "The Man Who Falls" "The Bat-Man #27" "Year One" and "The Long Halloween" With TDK they continued and really dove into "The Long Halloween" "The Bat-Man #1" (first two appearances of The Joker), "The Killing Joke" and even "The Dark Knight Returns" a wee bit.

The only thing that would make it possible for Batman to have help would launch the franchise into the "team up" movie that Bale is signed for. No Man's Land would be a perfect opportunity for Batman to meet Superman.

After a colosal setup in a 3rd installment, that'd be a good way for WB to launch their JLA business.

aww, t hanks Sky. too kind.

I was just thinking today on my way out of Subway that the only way for Robin to work in this franchise would be to completely bypass Robin and just introduce Nightwing as a separate vigilante-style crime fighter that pops up as an answer to the whole Escalation theme that Gordon pointed out. It would also give Bruce hope that he is finally inspiring good. It could also continue the "copy-cat" Batman idea.... perhaps this "Nightwing" is perceived at first as just another copy-cat and could even frustrate Batman a little. But then we begin to see ****'s dedication and training in the matter...and maybe somewhere he could hint at his parents' fate at the circus etc...and that could tie in his "days as Robin" without bringing the whole cheesy thing to light.

so then, just as Batmans hammering of the criminal underworld escalated to the rise of The Joker, his unwavering dedication to the Batman's mission finally escalates into inspiring the orphaned (but older) **** Grayson into becoming Nightwing.

                        *shrugs*

but too bad Nolan said that "Robin is in a crib somewhere" regarding his possible appearance in the Nolanverse.

"The Dark Knight" is still on the tip of everyone's tongue. But now, instead of folks breathlessly asking each other if they've seen it, talk has turned to speculation over Batman's next foe. Who's it gonna be?

iVillage is reporting that the Caped Crusader may take on the Riddler in "Batman 3." According to the rumor mill, Johnny Depp might sign on to play the nefarious super-criminal. But caveat emptor—this could be just as false as the one about Crispin Glover playing the Joker.

Slashfilm notes that there are additional possibilities floating around. For instance, Phillip Seymour Hoffman may play the Penguin or Angelina Jolie could don Catwoman's skin-tight suit. Truth or fiction, fanboys around the world must be having a heart attack at the mere possibility.

Still, the "official" rumor mill is just one of the ways superfans are checking in on the next Batman flick. Many seek the scoop themselves. We've noticed impressive searches on "batman 3 rumors," "dark knight sequel casting rumors," and "batman's next villain."

That last query is very telling. People clearly want to know the answer, but we doubt even the filmmakers have decided. To that end, may we offer the studio execs this humble piece of Search-informed advice: Go with Catwoman. She's far-and-away the most popular baddie and there are already a slew of searches on possible cast members including Jessica Biel, Amy Adams, and, wait for it, Maggie Gyllenhaal. Do fans think Rachel Dawes, Bruce Wayne's one-and-only, was really the Catwoman all along?

See, they keep trying to bring back Rachel or Catwoman and I don't get why...I know some people want to see these attractive women dressed as Catwoman, but I really think that they should use one of them as Bruce Wayne's next fling instead. I'm not saying Catwoman's not a good character, but I just never really thought she could fit in this type of world. I do like the Nightwing idea though...I definitely think that could work in a LOT better. I don't think anyone Wayne confides in would ever be supportive of him taking a 'Boy Wonder' under his wing...
