Okay. In all fairness, the music in Grease is probably one of the most respected and recognized compilation of pieces of music in showbiz. Grease is a cultural phenomenon, and you can't be a film fan or musical fan without acknowleding the marriage of the two.

On the other hand, the music of O Brother Where Art Thou is also very well done, and takes the film to a whole new level. Whether you like it or not, the score for O Brother is another brilliant accomplishment. Especially since this film is an adaptation of one of Shakespeare's plays which in turn was an adaptation of The Odyssey.

As far as adaptations in musicals go, I think Moulin Rouge is probably on top of this list as well. As a person who was adamently against this film in high school because I couldn't stand that song with Aguilara in it, I was quickly converted into a fan after actually watching the film. I was impressed that McGregor can actually sing, and the rest of the covers in the film were greatly worked into the storyline.

Il Buono, Il Brutto, Il Cattivo was on Saturday morning. Which is weird because I just mentioned Morricone's work. And this film is basically his 9th Symphony. or... whatever lol.
