I am deeply saddened by this. He's one of my top 5 favorite actors and he deserved the supporting Oscar for Gladiator. Not to mention he's just superb in everything even if the movie he's in isn't.

Dude was an all out, flat down amazing actor. I don't think he ever really got the full credit he deserved in anything he did. And you are right on- he did carry the movie even if it was crappy. Here's to hoping he does like any good young star does and get's the itch to come back in a few years to do another~
