  • Rank this summer's movies

Since Labor Day is the unofficial end of the summer, I was just curious about your take on the crop of movies that came out this summer. Rank this summer's movies and add any comments about what you thought about each one, if you want. Put down as many as you want (but I'll just have five). Here goes:

1.) Hero - Most definitely my favorite movie this summer. I won't go into detail, just track down the thread I started about it. If you haven't seen it, what the hell are you waiting for?

2.) Spiderman 2 - More emtionally driven than I thought it would be (which turned out to be a good thing). One of those rare movies where the sequel was better than the original.

2.) The Bourne Supremacy - A heady action thriller. Not only was the action fast and furious but Matt Damon does a great job showing us the wounded man behind the lethal skills.

4.) Collateral - It was decent, nothing special. A lot a critics had a litter over this flick, but I thought it was just your standard action/suspense film.

5.) The Village - Easily the worst of the five that I've seen. I thought that it lacked suspense and the plot dragged worse than a dog ready to be put out to pasture. I really could've found a better use for 9 bucks...

I haven't see "Hero" yet but I'm going to try this weekend. It looks like "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" which I also thought was a great flick.

"The Bourne Supremacy" actually disappointed me but mostly because of the film style. That damn bouncy camera (ala Blair Witch) and constant shifting between different angles was annoying and made me realize where A.D.D. came from. Whew! Good film messed up by the direction, in my opinion.

I thought "I, Robot" was a lot better than I expected and it was one of my favorites. "Shrek 2" was really good, too.

I saw a lot more but those are the ones that come to mind.

I thought the Village was an awesome movie till the ending just ruined it completely.

Same here. I didn't think it was incredible but it was enjoyable if you weren't expecting too much action.

I'm just surprised nobody else mentioned "I, Robot." I thought it was a surprisingly good flick.

I never saw "I, Robot." I just never had a desire to see it when it came out. Nobody I know saw it so I never heard anything good about it.

As for The Village, I'll argue to the grave that that movie was horrible. :p .
