Medical and Crime Dramas

They just won't stop coming!!! For one thing, Medical dramas are so E.R. early 90's and not cool anymore... (except House).

Secondly, what the hell Bruckheimer? What happened to producing summer blockbusters? All you do now is produce drivel and EVERY SINGLE Crime drama you produce is the exact same thing with different actors!!! Stop it! Stop it!

And what's worse, as if one CSI or NCIS isn't enough, they have to go out and make like.... a bajillion of each... why do we need 4 CSIs? We already have like 6 Law & Orders...

when does it end man? and they want to go and cancel awesome innovative, creative, fresh and inventive shows like KINGS??? for what?

all we see on tv anymore are reality shows (and i've noticed a trend in more and more spin-off cooking reality shows...) and crime dramas that just cause a giant orgy of depression... what happened to Sit-Coms and fun shows?

Along with the millions of CSI's and Law and Order's, you've got Cold Case, Criminal Minds, Without a Trace, Bones, the (really lame) TNT shows The Closer, Saving Grace, Raising the Bar, Hawthorne, that new NBC show Southland, and then there's some show called General Hospital I think, etc etc etc

I occasionally watch CSI (the Las Vegas one), and Without a Trace if nothing else is on. And House, but only once and awhile. Every House episode is exactly the same, the only good thing about it is its somewhat funny. I really like Cold Case, Bones, and Criminal Minds so I watch those pretty regularly.

exactly!!! that's what i mean! they are ALL the same damn show... and they let cool innovative shows like Kings go by the way-side... ugh... so infuriating.

The only one i like is House. Everything is garbage pretty much.

And Scrubs, but that's more of a comedy. Although it does have a few drama elements in it.

House is good. CSI has fallen apart. The rest are...well, the rest pretty much blend together.

But there are some good comedy shows that are being neglected, like Better Off Ted. Let's not forget one of the funniest shows in recent memory, Arrested Development, was cancelled. My Name Is Earl got cancelled, too.

Luckily, we still have LOST for one more season.

This is one of the reasons why I don't watch much network TV. Television is definitely being made for the lowest common denominator. I feel the better shows are on HBO, Showtime, A&E etc. It sucks that reruns of Seinfeld are better and funnier than anything on network TV.

just like that Trauma show or whatever. Don't try to be E.R. a-holes. You won't succeed. Chicago Hope couldn't do it and neither could any other medical drama afterward. your whole attention-getter is the helicopter slamming into the building and then i know the rest of your show will suck and will just get canceled next season.

small note on My Name is Earl. I hated that show. I can't believe it lasted this long, but that's just me....

it's just a matter of time before the Heroes fall. Probably to another reality cooking show or who can gain the most weight the quickest or some damn thing.

and what's with the silly names? The Closer, The Mentalist (or whatever the hell it is), The Philanthropist (actually that one doesn't seem too bad but I don't see how they're going to carry that show very far), Medium.. lol good grief who thinks of these titles? Come on!!! You already half-assed the plot of your show and you are basically just re-casting CSI over there or whatever.

if they're going to come out with another crime drama it'd be awesome if it was detective noir style... the trench coat and fedora and everything... maybe not black and white so much but that type of writing etc... that could be interesting but probably get canceled because too many people are glued to "I'm a Fatass Who Wouldn't Lose Weight If I Weren't On T.V."

i dunno. t.v. pretty much blows chunks these days and the sad thing is that film isn't much better. it's like the entertainment industry went: "Let's just make a bunch of cookie-cutter shows and movies and that way idiots won't have to think or anything but they'll pay the money to watch them.

i dunno. i have a few buddies that are die hard LOST fans and i'm like: "you know it's just a giant ratings ploy right? that's how Abrams nabbed so many people to watch Cloverfield, by showing you glimpses but nothing more...and then you are left wanting more..."

but at least it's well filmed and original.

I started watching Lie To Me because Tim Roth is one of my favorite actors. Decent show, IMHO.
