  • What are your 5 favorite albums?

To me a great album is more than just a collection of good songs, it's a work unto itself. Many albums stand by themselves as amazing works of art, The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper or The Who's Tommy are great examples. It's difficult to say exactly which are my five favorite albums because what I listen to depends a lot on my mood, but if I had to narrow it down these would be my top picks.

Queen - A Night At The Opera

    The Beatles - Abbey Road

Al Stewart - Between The Wars

Split Enz - Time And Tide

    Tim Finn - Big Canoe

Appetite and Legend are fantastic albums. AfD was the perfect metal album for its time. There isnt a song on there that wasnt perfect for it when it came out. That album was gritty and dirty and the perfect foil for all the hair metal fluff that had been coming out.

Oh, I'm definitely a System Of A Down fan. I bought Serj's Empty Walls CD, and Daron's Scars On Broadway CD too! So, I'm definitely down with the System! And, take it from a SOAD fan, "Johnny" is the best song they ever made!

This is just gonna be the top 5 albums that I own. I've listened to tons of albums but it's not the same unless I own it. So no Beatles will be allowed on this list.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea

The best album ever, so much emotion and weirdness. Brilliance.

                            Rush - 2112

Nostalgic reasons, the first Rush album I listened to via my dad. 2112 is a fantastic song.

Weezer - Weezer (The Blue Album)

This is the geekiest 41 minutes and 17 seconds i've ever spent in my life. Simple, fun, it's full of songs with ridiculously nerdy and quirky lyrics.

                            Radiohead - In Rainbows

This was a tie-breaker with Hail to the Thief, In Rainbows gets the nod only because it was my first Radiohead album so once again nostalgia. It's such a chill album, simple and relaxing.

                            The Clash - London Calling

I had to choose between this one and a Gnarls Barkley album, a White Stripes album, and a Minus the Bear album but I think I made the right choice. There are a few songs that sound the same, but it's punk so i'm not too bent about that. Awesome album, Train In Vain remains one of the catchiest songs ever, and Jimmy Jazz is BA.

No doubt this list would change if I owned every album I like. Rubber Soul would easily be on it.
