  • Advice on Football Autograph

Did not know where to post this but just chose this.

I have a concern/problem and hope someone can help me out.
I have a autographed football by John Elway and it is fading alot. I already have it in a case and a towel over it so no sunshine hits it but still is fading quite a bit.

Does anybody have any advice or has had the same problem.

    Anything will help!

    thanks

It probably has more to do with the kind of pen used and the surface that it's on.

My autographed Elway Jersey is fading too, and I have it behind museum glass and hanging in a room that never gets sunlight. It's just time.

Um... Can't you just have someone with a modicum of artistic talent retrace it?

That's what I'd do. The signature is no more or less genuine if it's been retraced...

I've always done that. Then again, I wear my crap until it's worn out too and then I hang it up and stop using it.

I dunno... I plan to get Champ's autograph on my coat and a new jersey soon. I'll wear both of them. When the signature starts to fade I'll probably re-highlight it.

I don't know what that does to the "value" of such items, but then again I ain't tryin' to Ebay it anyway.

As far as I know, there's nothing you can do.

            Found this: http://www.historyinink.com/autograph_care.htm

Don't know if that helps or not.... didn't read it.

My advice is throw the dumb thing out. Autographs are really stupid.
