... The Band or Bob Dylan (with The Band)?

Don't know how far back you want to go, but there's Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry, too.

Listen to Frank Zappa's album Hot Rats. What do you think? Rock?

Did you consider Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin or Jimmy Hendrix? Doobie Brothers? Santana? Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young? The Byrds? Creedence Clearwater Revival?

I thought Spirit was ahead of their time and I regret never seeing them.

How about Chicago, Blood, Sweat and Tears and Three Dog Night? ZZ Top?

Blondie, The Pretenders, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts?

      Black Flag? The Beastie Boys?

      Just wondering.

Oh boy, you guys will HATE me for this list.

No particular order, but they are my favourite band, so they're going first.

                  Green Day
                  Reel Big Fish
                  30 Seconds to Mars
                  Blink 182
                  Megadeth
                  Red Hot Chili Peppers
                  Rise Against
                  Foo Fighters
                  Weezer
                  Offspring

Wow, I like alot of modern music, the golden oldies I love are bands like The Beatles, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, but they're all from overseas.

                          In no particular order:

                          The Who

                          Pink Floyd

The Beatles (duh) - and pretty much all their off-shoot bands (Sgt. Peppers for example)

                          Rolling Stones

The Cars (no, really, check their accomplishments)

Queen (my vote for first place if I have to have one)

                          Genesis

                          U2

                          KISS

And finally, kind of a toss up between Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Cure.

Supertramp probably goes someplace on this list too. Well, okay, not really, but they're close.

NFL are being urged not to allow the Who to play the superbowl halftime show by a child protection agency. I'll beat up any child I see if they don't let The Who play, tell me whats more dangerous to children then. Pete Townsend on national TV, or a PO'd Scotsman running around punching children. Your move Child Protection.
