  • What is the scariest movie you've ever seen?

I am a horror movie buff and I was curious to see what you guys think is the scariest movie ever made.

For me it would have to be Stephen King's It. Although I am not terrified of this movie like many people, it still gives me the chills at times which is hard to do since I am obsessed with horror movies. Especially the part when Pennywise is in the picture book when the still image comes to life. That was my favorite scene of the movie by far. I just watched this movie recently for the first time in a very long time and it still had nearly the same effect on me as it did when I first saw it.

I think the first half of the movie when the main characters are kids is significantly better than when they are adults, although the second half still has its moments.

For anyone who hasn't seen this movie I highly recommend watching it unless you really don't like horror movies. Tim Curry really does an incredible job acting in this movie.

Pennywise encourages you to watch it too

    The Exorcist

Without a doubt, the most terrifying movie ever made. I too have a strong love for horror films, and am immune to most of what's out there. The Exorcist is probably the only movie that has ever really gotten to me.

        Very good choice sir :salute!:

I agree that movie is awesome. Not many other horror movies can compare to it.

Alien. The first one. When I saw that when it first opened I came out of the theatre scared out of my mind. You never knew where that alien was coming from.

I'll tell you a story about "It". It's not the scariest movie I ever saw, but it is the scariest book I ever read, and while I was in the middle of reading it I was frightened every time I saw a clown. I was at a mall and I walked past a store display with a stuffed clown and nearly jumped out of my skin. One day while driving I was stopped at a red light and a van was turning onto the street I was on, but going the opposite direction, so it was coming towards me. Driving the van was a guy... in a clown suit! I must have looked startled because when he saw me he gave me an evil, nasty grin that sent chills up my spine! I swore that was Pennywise and he knew I was reading IT!

Paranormal Activity got me pretty well. It's a great movie, won't scare everybody, but it will for certain folks. I generally find myself rather immune to scary movies these days so I was happy to be creeped by it

I agree with you on Alien. Good scary movies mess with the brain and Alien is one of the best examples of psychological terror their is. The gory horror movies or the torture porn ones, those arent SCARY, they are just brutal. The best scary movies get in our head and make you feel the same fears the character on the screen is feelings.

                Oh, and I hate clowns.

The scariest movie I saw was a made for TV Movie called Don't Go To Sleep. It's about a family that moves into a new house after the eldest child is killed in an accident. The eldest daughter's spirit comes back to get revenge on the whole family. The movie itself wasn't as spooky as the ending, which I heard was classic TV.

When I was about 7 years old we had a baby sitter who let us watch the "Exorcist". My parents weren't too impressed. We were not watched by that baby sitter ever again.

I hope it was explained to her why she never came back.

I don't like horror movies. They creep me out too much.

                      With that, I'm gone.

Actually, I saw Outbreak when I was in middle school and it scared the **** out of me. The fact that it could potentially happen was what really got to me.

Also I was terrified of the first Terminator movie. I saw it when I was like 11.

Not really in the horror movie genre but both we're pretty friggen scary.

It was actually a "he". He was our next door neighbor and our parents were all good friends. I'm sure it was explained to him VERY CLEARLY.

Yeah, well, I don't do creepy.

I saw Psycho once. I still peek around the shower curtain to make sure he's not there.

I should have known it was a 'he'. A 'she' would have been much more sensible.

And don't even try to argue that.
