  • I read all day at work; contracts, claims, dispute letters, claim letters, plans, specifications; I want to go home and get stupid-- no joke!

Done, fantastic read, probably means a bit more to those of us who served as members of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children (USMC) back in the 70's. Brought to mind Robert Redford's documentary on Leonard Peltier, "The Incident at Ogalala" you can stream this for free on Leonard's website.

      • Walking with the Poor - Bryant Myers

It's a book about transformational development work with people living in poverty. Not exactly light reading, but it is largely considered a seminal work in my field. If you're only passingly curious about how to work effectively with people struggling with material poverty, I'd recommend Toxic Charity, The Wealth of the Poor, or When Helping Hurts before this one, but if you're in the field this is the source material for you to read.

        • I've finished Elatris and TES both by Brandon Sanderson. Both take place on the same world but two unique magic systems. I thought they were both solid books buy I like TES better. Elantris seemed to drag at times but was enjoyable at the end.

Started The Fall of Reach, and Halo book

          • I'm back to reading Brent Weeks again. The 3rd book in the lightbringer trillogy is out The Broken Eye (of course it's now no longer a trillogy as there will be another book) Sold series so far.

I will probably pick that series up when it is finished. To many books right now left in the middle waiting for the next book... The Stormlight Archieve, Mistborn's Alloy of law, Reckoners, King Killer Chronicles... I need to stop getting into these series before they finish lol.

Supposedly according to his reddit AMA there will only be 4 books. So the next one will be the last.

He did say though "Four. (98% certainty, stuff happens, but I'm just putting that in there in case things go sideways)"

It will probably take me all of 2015!

                      • I'm usually major anti book reading. Especially for stuff that is movies because I always hate how people say the movie sucked compared to a book.

But my wife and I really liked the Maze Runner movie so we decided to pick up the whole series on Kindle.

We like the first one so far though we already know what happens.

I will say the movie did it major different though through the first three chapters.

                          Good luck with that!

I know lots of Russians that struggled getting through it.

I'm reading through Chronicles of Narnia with my daughter. We just started the Silver Chair.

I'm actually looking for any interesting biographies if anybody has any good recommendations.

                          • Just finished:

It's sort of an autobiography. Mainly an effort to enlighten people on what the lifestyle is like. He ended up being the second guy in the stack when the sniper took down Bin Laden and his kid. One of the best books I've ever read. Makes me wish I joined the Navy...sort of. lol.

                            Currently reading:

Sequel to "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Not as good.

                            • I read a short, quick kindle "book" the other day ... Anthem by Ayn Rand interesting short book goes to the extreme reality of a "communist/socialist type" society. It was somewhat entertaining.
I started reading The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith ... this is not really an entertaining read, you have to be interested in economics to want to read this. Still a good read for me.

                              • So I am still reading the Halo book as I took a break from Biolife which in turn means I took a break from reading lol.

But for any Sanderson Fans out there (Frey I'm looking at you). But on the 18th of December he released some news about his the Mistborn series. Alloy of Law was the first book of the second series, and he let it known their will be 4 books with Wax and Wayne. The Alloy of Law and a trilogy. And lucky for us Sanderson is a machine and will have the next 2 books out at the end of 2015 and early 2016.

Now hopefully he left himself some time to get the next stormlight archive done in there but I noticed I have a couple of books I need to read still. His next book in the Reckoners came out so I will read that and one of his short stories invovling the cosmere has been released by itself. (Was orginally part of a anthology) And sounds like the other short story that was in another of an anothology they just have to wait for the contract to run out before they can republish that one.
