Could someone explain why Vampires have suddenly become so popular? HBO has True Blood. Then there are the Twilight movies. Plus several other movies and TV shows Vampires are everywhere. To be honest I do not understand the attraction, and why they are so popular. Can anyone shine a light (no pun intended) on this for me.

whoever made the first one that was successful spawned a million copycat ones

the only one of those type movies i care to see is the wolfman one with Benicio Del Toro....the special effects in those twilight ones seems pretty bad, not to mention they're aimed at little girls

from what i see in the commercials all those studly boys are shirtless sex apparently sells with the teen girls just as much as it does with the teenage boys

As someone who likes the Twilight series, I don't have an answer for you. It's really annoying. The book section for teens might as well be renamed the "Vampire Section".

Its just a trend, it will pass. The only truly awesome vampires are Lestat and Louis if you ask me. And I admit to reading and watching Twilight. *shame* Its not that I like them really, but Skywalker and I have a great time making fun of them.
