Just got the game today. Went to a friend's house last night and was watching him play and he and my other friend convinced me to get it. Well not really convinced since I was craving it anyways. Just found the extra money to spend. We're going to start a 4v4 team and see how that goes. I still have a long ways to go to getting used to it though. I haven't played StarCraft in the longest time. I am going through the campaign to get me up to speed until I can get faster with everything. Does anyone know any sites for good hotkeys or anything?

I find myself going through replays by using a program called SC2gears. With that program, you can analyze just about everything about a replay.

Judging from what I see, I've got a looooong way to go still.

I want this game so bad but I don't have the extra funds to be spending it on SC at the moment. I just graduated college in May and have student loans and I am still looking for a job. Times are tough and SCII does not look like its in my relative future. I was watching YouTube videos of matches and it was like watching porn. I had to stop because I was getting sad haha. The game looks magnificent.

I'm going to start using a new hotkey setup. It depends on what I need to do, of course, and will vary depending on strategy, but as a general rule of thumb:

Hotkey 1-3/4: These will be reserved for buildings. I'll group together Gateways/Barracks, Factories/Starports and the like, depending on race and strategy.
Hotkey 5: Nexus/Command Center. If you're Protoss, hotkeying your Nexus is hugely important due to Chrono Boost.
Hotkey 6-0: These are reserved for units.

I think this will help me out tremendously.

If anyone's got other strategies for SC2, hotkey-related or not, please share. I'm always looking for ways to improve!

Do you have to know the storyline to enjoy the game, cause I thought about giving this a go.

Not necessarily, as a matter of fact, during installation, the installer has a sort of video that recaps the story from the first game, which I thought was pretty cool. Also, you can find a recap of the story for the first game and expansion online if you'd rather not play through it.
