The worst was def the original xbox. On top of that when I had that I was a fairly young kid so wrapping my hands around it was even harder than normal lol.
Yeah, I hated the Original Xbox controller, but that was no where near as bad as the Atari 5200 controller. I'm still having nightmares over how awful that thing was.

The Xbox 360 controller, simply because it's all I know...

I played Playstation 1 & 2, where their controllers are basically the same and the original Xbox, but all that was long ago.

360 no doubt about it. It's smooth, white, and smooth..... Comfort to the max of course to go along with it. PS3 controller seems so light and cheap, however the one with the rumble built in is a notch above the regular.
N64 was the best shooter controller of all time, I think the OP covered that nicely....
Oh, and to all you computer freaks out there.....don't keyboard get a little annoying? Seriously, playing games were not meant to be played hunched over a monitor. Unless they improved on the hideous computer controllers, I don't see any reason why anyone would do that to themselves.

Whenever I play games on my computer, I use my PS3 controller as a gamepad. Apparentley you can do it with the 360 controller as well, but it has to be the wired version, and I only have a wireless one. I hate playing games with a keyboard, unless it's a certain type of game. But back in the day, playing games on a computer was a very common thing, especially in the days of the Commodore 64, Amiga, Vic-20, etc..

              Best for me is PS3 and I'm a 360 guy. I do not own a PS3 nor will I.

That said their controllers are so light-weight you can play for hours and not even realize it.

anything that has vibrators/rumble are the worst... I modify my xbox and 360 controllers and take that crap out...

I don't want a controller trying to pleasure my hands while doing it's best at escaping my grip...

the 360 controllers with the rumbles taken out are awesome as well as they weigh next to nothing.

I have a PS3 and Wii. I don't really care for motion controls unless it's just having fun with the family, but what I like about the Wiimote and Nunchuck is that FINALLY I can have my hands away from each other relaxed when I do play it because the only real games I have for the Wii are Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Zelda: Twilight Princess which don't require motion controls. So I like the Wii and PS3 the same but the Wii is more comfortable for me. lol

In most games, you have the option of turning the Rumble off. I see what you mean, but Rumbles give a more electrifying feel when you see an explosion or something like that.

Sometimes it can get annoying though, which is why I turn it off.
