  • Psp2 confirmed!!!!!! With picture

It's finally here. After all the speculation, and rumors, Sony has finally announced the PSP2, which will be arriving in 2011 holiday season. And it has dual analogs, like everyone (including me), has been praying for. Here it goes...

NOTE-The picture is mocked, and simply a sketch from a fan, the real PSP2 will probably look a little bit different. Some say it will look like the PSP GO, but it'd be cool if the actual one looks like the one in the picture. Looks so sick.

Looks awesome, not to mention my current PSP-2000, has been acting up lately. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these. Anyone else stoked?

    Here's the proof btw-http://www.gamespot.com/news/6283483...es%3Btitle%3B6

The information under the picture in the article states:

A dearth of information hasn't stopped amateurs from mocking up the PSP2.
Sadly, that's not the real PSP2, just a fans interpretation of what it would like using photoshop.

I mentioned that where it says NOTE. It will most likely look like the PSP GO, but this kind of look isn't out of the question. Looks pretty cool like that.

Never been into any of the little hand held games, BUT if it has dual analog i might give it a try. Nothing like some COD or Madden while sitting under a tree at he park.

Haha qft. Madden was impossible to play on the PSPX, with one analog.

I used to have a PSP but I got rid of it not too long after I purchased it. I really didn't like a lot of the games that were available for the system. This was when I stopped liking gaming, went through a phase like that. Now I am getting back into it. The coolest thing I did with my original PSP was mod it. Was able to play emulators and roms on it which was pretty cool. It was awesome having a portable NES with you wherever you went. Other than that, I spent a lot of time playing Lumines which is a fantastic game.

How good is the PSP2 supposed to be in terms of performance and technology?

Technology, especially mobile tech has been evolving so fast lately and I would not be surprised if the PSP2 wasn't that far off from a PS3. I actually read an article which stated mobile phones in about 2-3 years time will be able to produce the same graphics as the current generation consoles which is simply amazing.

I don't really care much for hand held gaming. There isn't a single game on a DS/PSP that I'd take over playing Halo or pretty much any console game that I enjoy, so I wouldn't want to play it at home.

When I'm out of my house, I'm generally doing something, not sitting around with time to play a PSP etc.

I suppose people who are into hand held gaming are pretty excited though

Well instead of using UMD, Sony will now sell the games on memory sticks, which means more space for them to work with. Also meaning better graphics, faster loading times, and extra features. Dual Analogs is confirmed to be in, and the screen will be larger, that's all Sony has mentioned right now.

And to be honest most of the games on the PSP were ports from the PS2. I liked a few games here and there, but I mainly used my PSP as a portable Genesis, and a portable arcade.

And yeah I'm with you, I hacked my PSP and got CFW, and was able to play Genesis, SNES, and even Capcom Arcade games, on my PSP. Don't worry, Sony hasn't been able to stop people from hacking the PSP. They said they would with the GO and people managed to hack that. The PSP 3000 was far too easy to hack, and before it's release, Sony claimed they found a way to prevent hackers. Once again, IT DIDN'T work. So I'm not worried at all, once people find a way to put emulators on the PSP2, I'll be all over it.

I remember when I first played an NES game on my PSP, I was just in awe, best experience ever. Now my PSP has been acting up lately, so I'll be getting one of these come release.

Interesting fact: A few years ago, Nintendo planned on releasing a Halo game for the DS, but they got sued before the game's release, and had to cancel it

There's a guy showing gameplay of it on youtube. It might be gone though, as this was years ago I watched it.

My PSP-2000 can make phonecalls with skype as well. Though I've never used the feature.
