I've been playing since the release (off and on) and campers have never been an issue for me. You have a shield, run away and come back and get them. People who get the sword are obviously not going to run out and try to find you, that would be idiotic, try to draw them out I guess... I mean they have a one hit kill weapon, they were probably going to kill you anyway.

Totally agree with the frag comments though, I hate when games just turn into artillery fire.

The CoD series is all but dead to me. I can only be camped and phantom knife killed so many times before I blow a gasket. I like Reach because you rarely play the same game twice in a sitting (depending on how long you sit), and with all the gametypes it feels more like a game where CoD feels like a grind and a chore sometimes with the godlike killstreaks and lag stabbers.

Guys that still play add me on xbl Chiba King =]
I agree, and I'm good with the DMR, thats no issue.
One of the things about campers in Halo(sword not included) the smart ones camp with the snipe, some even camp with rockets.

Emblem and armor is up to you, it all depends on what you like.
Armor will save you life 9x out of 10 trust me, hologram is really no good, unless you like to hide in dark corners.

I think Reach rules....I'm not sure what all the complaints are....Granted this is the first halo game I've actually "owned" but I've played halo for years with friends and such and I love reach. Sure there are some things that are kind of lame but for each of those there are at least 2-3 things I love.

I like the challenges and the armor customization and just the overall feel of the game, sure there are some complaints (like the morons camping the lift on sword base) but all in all it's a very solid game and I suspect I'm going to keep playing it for a long time. And I normally am not a huge console shooter fan though I played Reach enough to rack up 30 wins and 1000 kills this week something I normally wouldn't do on my console but rather my pc.

Yes I do like games, I probably know more about them than anyone. I've been playing games since I was about 3. All games have flaws, we're just discussing some of Halo's.

    I love Halo, just not Reach's multi-player.
I also like: Red dead Redemption, Mass Effect, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, Gears of War, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 2, both Modern Warfares,NHL series, Madden, and the list goes on.

Are there campers? Yes. Does it dominate the game? No. If you hate camping then you hate COD, not Halo. My friends and I all love Reach because of the overall lack of camping, and when people are camping, it's extremely easy to counter.

In COD camping is a pain because all it takes is 0.5 seconds for somebody to kill you, in reach you have time to react to a camper and as long as you aren't terrible, can kick their ass most of the time.

And nobody votes for the large maps? Okay, lets get this straight. All, let me say it again, ALL, of the large maps can ONLY be played in big team battle, and there are no 'small' maps available there, except maybe Atom which you could argue is a small map. Nowhere in Halo is there the option to forgo a large map (Hemorrhage, Spire, Paradiso etc.) for a small map (Reflection, Cliffhanger, etc.) So what you said about people voting against large maps for small ones where you can kill people in one shot across the map is false. If people want to camp small maps the only place they can do that is play lists that ONLY have small maps (team slayer, team doubles, etc.)

Also, I'm pretty sure what you're talking about in terms of people camping the top of a lift with a sword is in reference to the lift on Sword Base, and honestly, it's your own fault if you keep hurling yourself up there without knowing what is there. It is PAINFULLY obvious that the objective of that level is to control the top of the lift, and there are four different ways to get up there. If their team controls the lift you should never take the lift up there.

Scrolling through stats on Bungie.net I have played 593 games, with 7,621 kills and 4,763 deaths. Guess how many of those deaths have been by a sword? 91. Conversely, 1,590 have been from the DMR.

When 91 of my 4,763 of my deaths are from a sword, clearly all this sword camping stuff you're talking about is really not that big of a deal.

And how can the DMR suck when the vast majority of my kills are with it (2,177) and the the vast majority of my deaths (1,590) are from it?

Obviously I have no problem using it, and everybody I play against has no problem using it.

    EDIT:
I do agree frag grenades can be overly powerful at times, but Bungie has begun to correct this by lowering the starting amount of frag grenades to one instead of two.
If you know me, then you know I absolutely don't like CoD period. BR1 was the only CoD game I gave a damn about. Campers are in every game. Not just CoD and Halo. They're in Killzone, Crysis, MoH, all of them. I've just noticed that it's much worse in Halo and CoD, which is surprising as Killzone had some pretty bad campers as well.

CoD it's usually a guy with a sniper and a claymore behind him, in Halo it's some guy at some high vantage point throwing gernades with a sniper. It's been like that since Halo 1, not just Reach, apparentley you didn't read that part of what I said.

Also about the swords and stuff, it shouldn't take you 600 games to know that most people try to get an easy kill or two, by hiding behind a walk way with an energy sword. Like I said, it's been like that since Halo 1, this is nothing new. Obviously, once you play the game, and know all the hiding spots, you can take those guys out pretty easily. In fact, I really only got killed by sword hiders towards the beginning when I wasn't used to any of the levels, but still, it's a pain in the ass.

I agree, with Reach the campers have a large boost, which is why nobody votes for the map types that are large or have vehicles. They prefer small, close maps where you can shoot across the map in get a kill.

On one map, people go for the sword in camp next to the gravity lift, so when somebody comes up, they get slashed. Now at first when people didn't know all the perks, a grenade up the lift kills the guy and his buddies. But now armor lock keeps the camper alive.
In most of the maps, it's who ever gets the sniper rifle and reaches the camp spot, or tower wins.

started a topic Fall of Reach???

    Fall of Reach???

This is a Halo Reach sucks thread.

OK, so I've noticed a lot of things in this game, that I know piss off a lot of other real halo fans or skilled gamers.

1st: In Halo Reach the fragment grenades are way too powerful, plasmas are cool, they stick and are well plasma. But you are a super solider, frags should not have the power to kill a fully shielded Spartan from 2-3 feet away.

2nd: Some of the armor abilities are pointless, in Halo 3 you had to fight for a camo or what ever, in Reach the power ups are well ridiculous.
Armor lock kills the point of slinging plasma grenades across map and getting a miracle kill, the jetpack is well...nice.

3rd: The DMR is trash, the old Battle rifle from Halo 3 was amazing, Bungie should have had it in Reach.

There are more things about the game that kills the Halo series name, all of which is online. The Halo story is great just like the others, the armor is cool, the ranking is a little annoying but cool.

For example: If you don't have XBL, then the game is pointless, you can really rank up, in almost nobody plays custom matches.

Almost all of my friends on XBL, whom have played Reach agrees with me, and have added more to the list of why Reach sucks. There are youtube vids on the matter, reviews by fans on the matter as well.

So this is for all those whom have played Reach online, because we have nothing against it's story. Also MLG killed Halo, you can't play it with out people wanting to play MLG maps or what ever.

So whats your thoughts on this matter?
