  • PS Move?

Hey everybody. My video game habits have changed, as in they are non existant. I haven't even bought the new Madden yet and I think I've bought madden on it's release date for about the last ten years. I have a very busy life. A wife, two kids, full time job, and about a bazillion different hobbies all stand in the way of any kind of deeply involved game playing. I would love to be able to play games like Fallout or Mass Effect but I simply don't have the time.

So anyway to my question: I have a WII and the little game playing I do comes in the form of family game nights with the wife and kids and it's always on the WII. I was wondering if any of you have the PS Move (I do already own a PS3) and is it worth it. I have heard it's pretty good just wanted some feedback from any of my buds that may have actually used it. Are there some good adult themed shooters, fighters that would make it worth it for me compared to the WII, when I'd happen to find a few minutes to play by myself? The WII seems to be tailored so much toward kids.

Anyway, if any if you have some feedback that would be great. Thanks guys and gals.

    Have I played? No
But from what I hear from IGN,Gamestop, and other companies, it's not special. The sells for it is not going well, especially since the Kinect came out, so I say save the money, keep the kids playing the wii, but if you yourself wanna play a game, and if the Wii and PS3 are all you have, Mass Effect 2 will be out for the PS3 in January.

If you have every played or seen the PS2 motion sensor game then, the best I can say is, is that there the same. It's nothing new.

Yeah your welcome, but it also comes down to what you want, and if you wanna spend money.

I'm no expect on PS3's but the move is a bigger bust than both Jermarcus Russell and Jarvis Moss, all as one.

Move could very well be considered a "generic" accessory, as it's really sandwiched between Kinect and the Wii as the more succesful of the 3. Now I myself don't give a crap about Kinect, or Move, but at this point, it seems Sony should've done someting more innovative.

Move is basically a blatant copy of the Wii. It's your money, your enjoyment, and your decission. But I'd pass on Move and use that money to buy some great games for the PS3 instead. Killzone 3 isn't too far down the line, and like Blaze said, Mass Effect 2 will be on the PS3, and you still have GT5 in a couple more days.

My advice on motion accesories are, "if it's not the Wii, ignore it".

Move's sales aren't that impressive, and once companies realize this, they'll stop making their games compatiable with Move. And that leads up to what would be the point of getting it, if most games don't support it?

EDIT: If you're looking for some really good shooters, then I HIGHLY recommend Crysis 2, it comes out on March 22. And of course Killzone 3 which comes out in February. If you do indeed get Move, Killzone 3 supports it so you'll be in luck. Crysis 2 doesn't support it AFAIK.

Also Mass Effect 2 is a pretty long game, but if you go through from beginning to end, you can beat it in 14 hours. I tried it myself, I just played through all the missions, progressed through the story, and just ignored the side missions, and I beat it in around 14-16 hours. If you want to get every little detail out of the game then it's about 20-24 hours.

Yeah if only Sony made it 3 years ago, people might of gave a damn about Move. That sales just aren't there. It could be another one of those failed peripharls.

Thanks for the input everybody. I am second guessing it now. Maybe I'll just go a different route. Anybody play the newest Tiger Woods for the WII? Also, are there any good shooters for the WII?

I haven't played Tiger Woods so no. A good shooter for the Wii is Golden Eye, and the Conduit. Golden Eye as you know is a remake from the original on the N64, it's one of the greatest shooters ever made.

The fact that Killzone 3 comes out around the time of my bday just makes the wait seem even longer. I can't wait for it, then a month later Crysis 2 Can't wait!!

I hear the old Goldeneye is coming out on Wii. I'd imagine that'd be a safe choice for a game.

I have both Wii and PS3, and the kids like both.

I'm thinking about getting the Move when the next Little Big Planet comes out. The kids love that game (it's a killer app for PS3 and kids). And the next on uses Move.

But other than that, I haven't seen much to push me towards it. We'll see.
