I notice I havnt actually replied to the thread topic...

My first concert was an "our lady peace" when they toured for their first big album "Naveed" now that brings back some memories...

Favorite concert ever is a tough one...... I once saw the Dropkick Murphys perform in a bar about the size of a walk in closet... that was an unreal experience....

I attended Warped tour (big punk rock fan) annually for the last 10+ years... those are always amazing...I could include any one of a number of the bands therein... Blink 182..The vandals.. Rancid... to many good acts.

I saw an acoustic show my Matthew Good for his 'hospital music' tour. That was unreal.. like chills up your arms good. I also really enjoyed a great show by Xavier Rudd last year..

First album I ever bought was "Benefit"

"With you there to help me" is Tull's best song in my estimation.

Saw Tull's 40 year anniversay tour at redrocks..
very cool... great film clips.. incredible musicians.
      yet..

Ian Anderson has changed the tempo of lots of songs...
      heck they ARE his creations...
      and they sounded good...
      yet..
many did NOT sound like the familiar tunes we hear on the radio so often.

First concert was George Benson, and I think it was in 1988. I went with a friend and I think, her mom. I also think it was at The Wiltern in LA, but I really don't remember.

Best concert is a tough one. Def Leppard at the Forum in LA in '92 was great, as was Hall and Oates at the Universal Amphitheater in '88 or '89.

But I think the best has to go to Paul McCartney in 1989. That was also at the Forum and I went with my best friend.

Although Paul in 2005 at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim was almost as good. That was with my husband.

Cream's reunion concerts at Royal Albert Hall in 2005 are kind of like that. "Crossroads" is my all-time favorite and never fails to get my blood boiling. The way they did it at their reunion was very good; different, but very excellent.

The Family Dog in Denver coincided with my and my wife's senior year in HS, 1967-68 school year. She worked with Diogenes Lantern Works, the light show, so she saw every show from September 1967-April 1968. Google a list of the shows; it's a cool list with lots of great Colorado bands like Lothar and the Hand People.

Her brother had a band in Denver, Magic, which was good enough to go to LA where they changed their name to Bedlam. They came close to the big time, but no cigar. He's been back in Denver since the late seventies and still plays gigs on the side.

my first concerts were local metal bands.

my best concert might have to be the clash of the titans tour in 1991

            slayer
            megadeth
            anthrax
            alice in chains

            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clash_of_the_Titans_(tour)

although there have been so many its hard to pick just one.

First concert was a band called dc talk when I was really young at this festival called lovefest in nebraska. best concert I every went to was this one.

obviously it's not the full final show but it was the last song.

They were one of the only Local Denver bands to sell out the fillmore, it was a crazy show and a crazy week, was a huge snowstorm that week and a fun time with family and friends.

First concert was Night Ranger at Cheyenne Frontier Days. It was touted as the 'First Rock Concert' in the history of CFD. 1985. Ticket cost $13.

Best was Body Count/Metallica/Guns N Roses at Mile High stadium in 1992. Incredible.

The last few concerts I've been to have been freebie's. Flogging Molly, Chicago, Blue Oyster Cult (COWBELL!) and Starship w/Mickey Thomas. There are a lot of free Spring concerts in the Phoenix area.

But, planning on hitting up a day of Country Thunder next month.

HOPING TO SEE MORE OF THIS IN 2012

ESPN’s John Clayton reported that McKenzie is expected to review Jackson’s performance for the next week or so. Clayton reports that the odds favor Jackson staying in Oakland, but a decision has not been made. "I still get the feeling Jackson will end up being retained." 3 1/2 HOURS LATER, THE RAIDERS FIRED JACKSON.....GOOD CALL CLAYTON
