  • Madden Fans - 2011 Prospects - Just for Fun

    As you look at the 2011 draft prospects, I'm curious how you would rate them based on your gaming experience.

    Consider the following attributes by position and whether they are a 'A', 'B' or 'C' for potential:

    QB (SPD, THP, THA, OVR)
    RB/FB (SPD, STR, OVR)
    WR (SPD, OVR)
    TE (SPD, STR, OVR)
    OL (STR, OVR)
    DL (SPD, STR, OVR)
    LB (SPD, STR, OVR)
    CB/S (SPD, MCV, ZCV, OVR)

    I'll start with a fairly easy one

    AJ Green - WR; SPD = 94, OVR = 82, Potential = A

    Feel free to offer up your own critique.

    If fairley goes to us he will be rated an overall of 65 but if he goes to anyone else in the league he will be rated like 84.

                Interesting - those are pretty good marks for Man and Zone converages. I also didn't realize he was that fast. That's good to know.

                  Yea, he is fast. We will have to wait until the combine to find out how fast, but I found this article. You know how hand timing goes though.

                  Cornerback Patrick Peterson was hand-timed at 4.2 in the 40-yard dash,

                    He won't have speed above 95.... Let's be real here. Last year Suh's initial rating was 84, no one from this class will be above that. PP I could see being 82-83 with 92 speed. Fairley and Bowers will be right around that as well, somewhere in the low 80's almost everyone else will be 79 and lower.

                      4.2?
                      I'm not sure about that.
                      I can see him run a low 4.3 or high 4.4

                        DE Robert Quinn 92 block shedding, 90 finesse move, 80 speed, 80 overall.

                        I hope we trade down and pick him up.

                          Exactly. Like I said, hand timed by his own team isn't really that reliable... But I am just saying he is ridiculously fast, especially for being a big CB.

                            Some broad guidelines in speed for Madden I found...

                            40 time = Speed rating:

                            4.82 = 60
                            4.74 = 65
                            4.67 = 70
                            4.59 = 75
                            4.52 = 80
                            4.44 = 85
                            4.37 = 90
                            4.29 = 95

                              Is he a finished product (ex: Potential = B / C) or have a lot of potential to improve?
