  • PS3 users; which headphones?

So, which do you use???? And how would you rate them. As I ask, try to think specifically for Black Ops.

    K, thanks!!!

Turtle Beach delivers a wide selection of industry leading, award-winning gaming headsets. Our sole mission is to help every player play their best - at every level in every game.

Pretty sick headset well worth the money. As the site says you can dul pair your cell and your ps3 to be able to switch back and forth on the headset. It also has a plug in on the headset that allows you to plug in another type of headphones and play through those(Works wonders when you wanna charge your headset and still talk) Very light too and has excellent sound quality. Picks up noise too (You can usually hear my laptop even if its on low)

Just get Sony's offical PS3 2.0 bluetooth. They work the best, they're durable, and are cheap as dirt compared to other headsets/mics.

If you're using a PS3, they're simply the best option, simple fact.

Thank you all for replying. The name I keep hearing is Turtle Beach. I'm more looking for and over the ear headphone with a boom mic. Looks like Turtle Beach has a decent one for $80-ish that allows you to adjust the game sound or chat sound as you want it.

                You already used it?

I hear you it can be amazing with the ninja pro perk, lets you hear the enemys footsteps loudly.

I guess it's too late since you already bought something, but I suppose this can work for anybody else, as long as you're okay with dropping a couple hundred bucks for some amazing headphones...

I have a pair of the Astro A40 gaming headphones with the MixAmp and it is 100% worth it. You can connect them to a 360, PS3, or computer. It gives you surround sound quality with an installed headphone so you can voice chat as well. The sound is truly incredible quality.

As I said though, it's expensive, but it's worth it if you really want a pair of awesome headphones.

Yes, it has saved my arse a few times. Heard the steps, spun around moved and found them before they found me. Also... cna hear better where shots are bing fired from.

I have a question about those headphones ...

so the headphones, obviously give the sound from in-game ... gun shots, foot steps etc.

So does that mean that your TV doesn't give off the sound anymore?

I find myself playing a lot late at night (when the kids are in bed) and I can't turn the volume up because I don't want to wake up the kids.

Also, the mic ... is it BlueTooth? Can I chat with all my friends online?

Just from looking at most of the Headset type setups it doesn't seem as though they are BlueTooth, meaning you would still need a blueTooth headset to chat??

                        These are what I purchased.

To answer your questions... they have a box that allows you to control headphone volume so you can mute or turn the tv all the way down and crank the volume up on the headphones. You do hear all the game sounds crystal clear! Also.... they can control the chat volume seperatetly too!!! Meaning... you have 2 seperate dials to them and can adjust game volume and chat volume how you want! I usually turn the game down a bit and chat up a bit if my friends are on. If they aren't, the other way around.

The PX21, like I linked, does not have bluetooth. Those are the uber pricey DPX21 or something like that, but they are wireless and go through 2 aaa batteries in 6- 8 hours(a buddy has the wireless ones). The ones I purchased plug into the PS3 and the tv(instructions are included and quite simple, you jsut have to go to PS3 settings and change the mic settings which is quite easy too) and come with a 16' cable, so you don't need to sit right next to the tv. I sually am 4- 8 feet form the tv, so they are perfect.

The mic, as you see is a boom mic and reversable so you can have it off your left or right.

And... about the kids.... my wife hates listening to tha game and the flashbangs, so turning the tv down to zero and the headphones up is perfect for her too!!!!

Holla if you have any more questions. CHEERS!!

                          Allright cool

So even though it's not Blue Tooth it still allows you to talk to your PSn Friends online correct? just wired up instead of wireless!

Last night we had a private party going with 12 people ... we were playing Domination on Nuketown and with all the grenades, flashbangs, nooB Tubes guns, pistols, Napalm Strikes and Mortor Strikes going off my wife say's

"How in the hell do you know what your doing ... You can't even see where your going the whole screen is filled with smoke"

LoL ... to which I responded, "That's why it's better if you stick to Farmville"

Yes, you can still talk to your friends, just wired.

I had a few matches like that tonight. I swear there was one guy who seemed to have an endless supply of flashbangs. I cannot tell you how many times he hit me or barely hit me. It started to get frustrating. Luckily... when he did hit me it was just enough so that i could still get my crosshairs on him and get him before he could pull his gun up.
